    Discussion Mega Pidgeot EX viability

I think someone this weekend nearly topped with a Pidgeot-EX deck with no Mega. The main strategy was to make sure you can't OHKO Pidgeot and then keep on pounding down damage with Mirror Move and Max Potions. I think they either ran Magearna or Jolteon with it.

Discussion Brilliant Arrow Mega Gardevoir... Is it good?

10 energy maximizes your chances of hitting just 1 energy. Anymore energy and it is gravy.

    Discussion Mega Pidgeot EX viability

Mega Pidgeot has a couple potential partners, most with a similar attack pattern of (Some Energy)(Colorless)(Colorless), basically, if it can be used in Rayquaza, it can be used in Mega Pidgeot. Here are a few that are pretty good: Water: Regice + Glaceon EX + Manaphy Dark: Yveltal BKT +...

Discussion Brilliant Arrow Mega Gardevoir... Is it good?

Pokemon: Gardevoir EX (Doesn't really matter which, I personally like PRC more) 3-4 +Self explanatory, I recommend 4 but I have seen some builds run 3 Mega Gardevoir EX (PRC) 2-3 +Heart and Soul of the deck, I personally like 3, but 2 might be better depending on what tech Pokemon you run and...

Good Xerneas BREAK partners?? (except Giratina-EX, M Gardevoir or Dragonite EX)

The Regirock idea is my personal favorite, it also can combo worth with Ninja Boy (Go into a Xerneas, evolve into BREAK, the crowd goes wild). A couple things to add onto Regirock: You can use Energy Switch to power up Xerneas BREAKs from your energy reserve You can use Energy Keeper Carbink...

P!P/Rules Are prize cards a good mechanic for a TCG?

1st option: I generally like, however it does kinda screw with the whole idea of having "recycle-able" resources. For a lot of decks having cards like Super Rod is a big deal, and I know how EXs/GXs would work, but it would be a bit awkward. 2nd option: Not a huge fan of, seems like it would...

P!P/Rules Are prize cards a good mechanic for a TCG?

Prize cards, like any mechanic, should be factored into card design. Lets take a Basic Pokemon deck and a evolution Pokemon deck. If I have 1 of my Basic Pokemon prized, then the disadvantage is localized to just that one Pokemon. If I am playing an evolution deck (Think Zoroark where the basic...

P!P/Rules Are prize cards a good mechanic for a TCG?

Yeah, I like some others, but within the realm of how Pokemon is designed, I don't really like the idea of having a "hitpoint" component for the player. Not only is this system already used for a lot of card games, but rarely is it done very nicely. I feel like the prize card system is not only...

Discussion Decks That Don't Need Shaymin-EX

I wouldn't use Volcanion with Octillery, Volcanion relies on very quick setups, something Octillery doesn't provide.

Discussion Decks That Don't Need Shaymin-EX

Any Talonflame + Stage 2 deck is pretty decent. Talonflame Garchomp is my personal favorite, although I want to try using Talonflame to make certain Mega decks more consistent. Talonflame Garchomp works a lot like Talonflame Greninja, except instead of spamming out Greninjas you focus on abusing...

P!P/Rules Are prize cards a good mechanic for a TCG?

Wouldn't my proposed system fix all the issues of the prize system, while keeping it basic?

P!P/Rules Are prize cards a good mechanic for a TCG?

I honestly still don't really love the idea of side boards in the game as well. Not only would this change the dynamic of the tournaments a whole lot, but it would make certain decks way too good, while other decks would really hurt from it. For example, in a deck like Greninja where there isn't...

P!P/Rules Are prize cards a good mechanic for a TCG?

The Mechanic is cool for a couple reasons: A. It is a built in "Win condition counter," as in you don't need anything extra to count how close you are to winning. You also get rewarded for doing well during a game, with a nice +1. You also get really cool cards like N and Ace Trainer, which...

Discussion What Deck do you Plan Running for the 2017 Rotation?

Probably Dark w/ Max Elixir, that deck has really rounded out matchups which is something very attractive. Volcanion has a lot of promise and it will be cheap to build (Once the tins get released), so I might try that.

    Discussion Most Dissapointing TCG Set

With my limited perspective: Steam Siege, Fates Collide, and Generations currently. Fates Collide was cool for a little while but now that set is basically null in standard. Steam Siege was overall underwhelming due to how they designed it without Garbodor in mind when Garbodor is a real threat...
