I wonder what the development timeline for this game was, seeing as there are no Gen IX Pokémon in this set (Annihilape I understand because this is basically 151+, but we don't even have Kingambit for the Pawniard line) but we're using Gen IX mechanics (albeit with a Gen VII layout)
oh my god they did it.... a dragon-focused set without a Rayquaza in it (oh also the first time since like gen 4 where Rayquaza wasn't a pack-art Pokémon in a second-year set)
I really dislike the font choices... if they really couldn't use Gill Sans they could have at least picked a less "swapmeet fake card"-esque typeface, especially for the HP numbers
I hope Z-A gets its own card layout/era like with HeartGold & SoulSilver (peak Pokémon card design). I was so disappointed when Legends: Arceus didn't get one, though I understand not wanting to cut the SWSH era short.
I doubt we'll be getting Hydrapple in Crimson Haze, but that makes me wonder if we're getting a second set of Applin+Dipplin cards when Hydrapple does end up making its TCG debut (Stellar Miracle maybe?)
imagine they pull a Blueberry Pokedex and just have Hydrapple in the set without any of its...
I hope the Gulpin line gets some new cards soon, I believe they're the only Pokémon in this list to not have gotten a card in the SWSH era (their last set was Celestial Storm)
I had a feeling that they were going to continue the "Fates" naming scheme for the Shiny Vault sets but I wish the name was something like "Treasured Fates" because that would both tie into the Japanese name and Paldea's whole Treasure Hunt concept.
(also this means that 3 out of the 6 SV sets...
