This is a limitation is 1.2 which would require a complete rewrite of the thread/forum tracking system. This has been addressed in MyBB 1.4. There is currently no time frame available for the MyBB 1.4 release, but it should certainly be out this year.

The user mask and the group mask on the folders is different than what php and apache is assigned to (they should be the same), so that caused some problems. I'll go through and fix the uploads folder again. Edit: Should be fixed now

Well, I do have to say that it wouldn't surprise me that a forum this big is getting errors like that with the amount of data it's pushing on a shared hosting account. Sites this size usually run on a VPS

There was nothing I could do about this issue unfortunately. Another website on the server was consuming too many resources and therefore bringing us down with them. The IT team at dreamhost seems to have stopped the problem.

I sent in a ticket about 5 hours ago, and the network admins are investigating the source of the problem. I asked, and they confirmed that we weren't the source of the problem.
