I am interested in building this deck as well. I have tested both the conventional evolution route and the Archie's route, and I am not totally satisfied with either approach. However, I have found that the evolution strategy is, overall, more consistent in getting Greninja out.

Why not use Scorched Earth/Acro Bike instead of Battle Compressor? i.e., use the full 4 Scorched Earth? You are worried about the item lock, and Scorched Earth gets around that, puts energy into the discard, and gets you two cards.

Note the conditions for Focus Sash's effect: the Pokemon it is attached to must have full health, and the damage incurred from the incoming attack must knock it out. What I am wondering is if the first attack from a Omega Barrage Pokemon violates the first condition.
