Calyrex, Emergency Jelly from ‘Incandescent Arcana’!

As a glc lead it's great, since it definitely won't get ohko'd going second and also going first, you should be able to get at least 2 king's command off before KO with either DCE and its ilk or with venusaur doubling your energy output. some potential with Brilliant Bloom as well to counter...

    Radiant Tsareena from “Incandescent Arcana!”

this is why I asked earlier what the cap would be on healing for a card like this. how much healing would make this an auto-include? @Yaginku is right that more cards should be this level, and not the other way around.

Calyrex, Emergency Jelly from ‘Incandescent Arcana’!

the ol' berry wording, nice! Caly seems alright, I'd definitely run it in grass glc even though its a tight list.

    Radiant Tsareena from “Incandescent Arcana!”

this is below the power level they ought to be, but not by much. in matches where the only options are 2hkos against your active, healing even a small amount could easily make the difference between surviving the second attack and losing 2-3 prizes. how much HP recovery would make this card...

    More “Incandescent Arcana” Cards Revealed!

this Ho-oh is much, MUCH better. That had 160HP, ability worked on a coin flip, only attached 3 energy, and capped at 80 damage without further attachment or set up. VirGen rising in popularity made it particularly good, ohko with pluspower or another single attachment. The deck is basically a...

Terastal Phenomenon, Paldean Wooper, Fidough, Cetitan, and More from “Scarlet & Violet!”

The advantage to this that doesn’t appear in other card games is that below the “line”of EX, GX, V, etc, power creep isn’t much of a thing. Sure we’re seeing 170HP stage 2s more often than 120HP, but as GLC and other single prize centric play proves, the design philosophy has been consistent for...

“Hisuian Electrode V Box” in November!

There’s no link here to the set list, maybe someone could add that so it jumps to a translation?

Terastal Phenomenon, Paldean Wooper, Fidough, Cetitan, and More from “Scarlet & Violet!”

color me unimpressed with the crystal hat gimmick. We'll just have to play without it. I think I'd be happy actually if they imported it to the tcg as a rule box mechanic, cause then I could safely ignore it while playing glc with my pals.

TPCI Releases Alternative Play Handbook: Raid Format, 2v2 Team Battles, & More!

GLC being recognized is the best thing that's happened to pokemon in a long time. Mahone gets the credit, but its really the community that made it come to life. Good job team! EDIT: ● Each player’s deck must contain only Pokémon without a Rule Box - YESSSS

“Incandescent Arcana” Set Featuring Alolan Vulpix VSTAR Officially Revealed!

So I think all the big non-evolving basics that are actually stage 2s--from EXs to Vs--would feel way, WAY better to play against if they were more like Alolan Vulpix here. Neat, strong effects on a card that isn't necessarily a legend or a fully evolved mon. No reason Garchomp EX couldn't be...

    Lady Reprinted in ‘Lost Abyss’!

yep, that's the only kind of attack I've ever used it for. Smeargle has an advantage over vivillon and arceus in that its not a stage 2 and its attack cost is 1dce attachment.

    Amoonguss, Wailord from ‘Lost Abyss’!

I do NOT like the sound of that Amoongus. I can't think of a single card it serves to counter... it doesn't actually do very much at all. so why does it exist??? EDIT: thought of one, Rip and Run Honchkrow. Yeah.

Pidgeot V, Thorton from ‘Lost Abyss’!

Thorton is great. The meta is not, but its cards like this that will change that. eventually. hopefully.

    Shiftry from ‘Lost Abyss’!

agreed, this may not be instant tier 0 material, but it is still very good. interesting design space, and there are ways to make it work. It even attacks for G, so it has quite solid synergy with lost march Jumpluff. Definitely something to keep an eye out for. With a single high HP /safeguard...
