Pokemon Center Singapore and Pokemon Vending Machines Implement New Anti-Scalping Techniques for TCG Purchases!

That's not how supply & demand works. If you flood the market with supply to the point that it becomes impossible to buy out, then the market will crash. Of course, TPC does not want to do that. If the market crashes, it will verify the actual demand for the product, which might be much lower...

Pokemon Center Singapore and Pokemon Vending Machines Implement New Anti-Scalping Techniques for TCG Purchases!

TPCi could fix this at any moment by just printing product to demand. However, they care more about the scalper's trust in the resale value, than the consumer's trust in the product's availability.

Most Valuable Cards from “Heat Wave Arena,” Misty’s Psyduck Places High!

Scalping was always a problem in Japan, and now that TCG scalping has became a global phenomenon, it is basically unstoppable. I'm sorry, but since TPC is actively encouraging this, the only solution to this "investor culture" (thanks bitcoin) is to crash the market. Take a break from the game...

“Journey Together” Set Guide: Card List, Products, Store Promos, and Booster Box Situation!

TPCi targets another theme at collectors, this time with popular trainers instead of Pokemon. But it begs the question, even if you're just a collector, is it even fun to try and get these sets anymore, with the minimal supply and people pulling guns on one another?

“Heat Wave Arena” All 63 Main Set Cards Revealed!

It's incredibly funny that there's even a discussion if Yanmega is viable. Not in whether it is or it isn't, but that the game has degenerated to such a level that self-loading, energy-spreading engine that only needs switching to operate might be considered underpowered.

“Pokemon Card Game MEGA” Trademarked, Goodbye “Scarlet & Violet!”

Sorry, best I can do is bigger numbers on cards and more rare variants of cute anime girls. Scalpers go crazy for these.

“Pokemon Card Game MEGA” Trademarked, Goodbye “Scarlet & Violet!”

People were having arguments if PLA is a generation, with TCG treating Z-A like a generation I expect these to get even more heated.

Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex Revealed, Different Than the Original Mechanic!

Three-prizers are back? Lol, perhaps even lmao. The TCG division really have became the same as the bootleg designers that print "5000 HP" on their fake cards. More numbers, more excitement, more scalpers, less gameplay.

Cynthia’s Garchomp ex and More from “Heat Wave Arena” Revealed!

No, guys actually know how cardgames work. Granted, this is a lot easier for beginners to just pick up a bunch of cards that are very obviously extremely good together, but on the other hand this could be achieved by having good Theme Decks coupled with mechanics that aren't extremely shallow.

Cynthia’s Garchomp ex and More from “Heat Wave Arena” Revealed!

This era of PTCG will be the most boring if you actually like building decks, since every deck will basically build itself with extremely obvious and shallow synergies.

“Space-Time Smackdown” Set Releasing on January 29th for “Pocket,” Trading Details Revealed!

Yay, more ex decks with acceleration! It's not like every deck on ladder is exactly the same right now and just compares draw quality/coinflips.

Charmander and Squirtle Wonder Pick Event Now Live, Earn Promos and Accessories!

Blue canonically uses either Pidgeot or Blastoise as his ace, at least according to modern art/spin-offs/mentions/etc. Funnily enough, that's not the case during his battle in SMUSUM, probably because of Red's team.

“Battle Partners” Set Officially Revealed Featuring Owner’s Pokemon!

Pretty common take, knowing what kind of attendance other Leagues are reporting. It's not as dead as during SWSH, but still pretty bad. Appealing to a single archetype of player has consequences.

“Battle Partners” Set Officially Revealed Featuring Owner’s Pokemon!

That's not a high bar to jump over, lol Well, Japan's on their first step of rotating the awful F and G sets. It looks like this set wants to define the power level of I set - the cards are definitely more pushed than H, which was relatively tame save for the Dusknoir fiasco. I don't really get...

“Mythical Island” Set Guide: Full Card List, Missions, Theme Decks, and Accessories!

I wasn't convinced of Mew ex, but now it has been revealed that it also comes with it's own little ridiculously broken Trainer, it's a different situation. I don't think anything from the base set is random now, I think it's very deliberate to take Pokemon like Pikachu, Mewtwo, Charizard, Mew...

“Mythical Island” Mini-Set Releasing in “Pocket” Next Tuesday, 15 New Cards Revealed!

No, my claim was that Colorless Pokemon are missing from top decks, because they cannot abuse the cards that make those decks good. It is a meta statement, not a design statement. Even Pikachu ex denies Colorless Pokemon their space, because it only counts Lightning Benched Pokemon. Otherwise...

“Mythical Island” Mini-Set Releasing in “Pocket” Next Tuesday, 15 New Cards Revealed!

Well, I think at this point it's best we just wait for the release. I am mainly playing decks without acceleration and getting paired against a Pikachu is clearly the worst matchup in these situations. You can get a lucky break against decks that need to hit their cards, but Pikachu doesn't have...

“Mythical Island” Mini-Set Releasing in “Pocket” Next Tuesday, 15 New Cards Revealed!

A lot of decks would instantly run Misty. Venusaur ex, Wigglytuff ex, Nidoking and Dragonite are the first ones that come to mind. This is somewhat inevitable - Misty is a dumb card that shouldn't exist - but there's a lot of cards that are on the cusp of being playable that would massively...

“Mythical Island” Mini-Set Releasing in “Pocket” Next Tuesday, 15 New Cards Revealed!

Getting to power-up a three-cost attack without acceleration is purely a matter of luck, which you can get when you're playing against a deck that's reliant on acceleration, like Articuno ex (without Starmie), Moltres/Charizard or Mewtwo ex. Pikachu ex and Starmie ex are much more consistent...

“Mythical Island” Mini-Set Releasing in “Pocket” Next Tuesday, 15 New Cards Revealed!

The problem with Tauros is that it's terrible. You will never put three energies on it with zero access to acceleration (because all acceleration is pointlessly Type-gated).
