Collecting The "Card Collector Help" Thread

RE: The "Merchandise Help" Thread I agree, the owner of Pokevault is a very good vendor and sells top grade merchandise. eBay can often times be cheaper but like Artemis said, there are knockoffs on eBay.

    Where to buy in USA?

RE: Buying Individual Packs Online That's true, if you assume each shop independently then the chances are .66^5, .66^5, .33x.66^4 for 12.5% and 6.3%. Still those are very low odds. When I've bought packs online in the past I could instantly tell if they were weighed because I weighed them...

    Where to buy in USA?

RE: Buying Individual Packs Online Your logic makes sense but I highly doubt it's a coincidence. I mean one holo in 15 packs? That's got to be extremely bad luck because the chance of getting one holofoil is 0.33 x0.66^14 = <1% chance of that happening. I guess it is possible but it's just...

    Check list

I was looking for the exact same thing for database entry using excel but I could not find anything that would work... Unfortunately you'll have to type it by hand most likely...I will check the database I made to see if I can make it into an acceptable text file, perhaps you could make use of...

Dark Dragonite Error Sold For $10,000 Yesterday

I agree for the most part, it's not like you go and open packs saying "Oh I really hope I get an error card!" You open booster packs and say "I really I hope I get Shiny ___" or "I hope it's a FA ____" For that reason I don't consider errors all that valuable. Interesting, yes - but not worth...

Collecting "How Much is This Card Worth?" / "Is This a Good Trade?"

Ungraded I value it at 1k... http://www.ebay.com/itm/POKEMON-TCG-PROMO-E-SAMPLE-STAMPED-10-CARD-SET-RARE-/310632301199?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item485320c28f Grading them a PSA 10 will roughly triple the value of them in my opinion so SoulWind's estimate seems accurate to me...somewhere...

    Card condition definition

I'm interested, are you talking about PSA specifically? I agree with grading scales being different amongst card graders but I've not heard of cards being graded higher than they should be. Then again if you knew somebody who worked there and paid a little extra I wouldn't be surprised if it...

Does anybody have an idea about the value of an Unpeeled Vending Sheet #00 - it's the one with Mewtwo, Mew, and Pikachu.

I agree, some people don't mind buying good/excellent cards as long as the price is reduced correctly. You could always try selling in groups and sets because it's more appealing to buyers that way.

    Card Errors Database (Include Images!)

RE: *** Card Errors Database *** (Provide a Picture When Reporting Any - no misprints) The miscut on the Flygon is more noticeable in person, I have a few more cards like that... The Slowking is my treasure, not sure if I am gonna let it go or not because of how rare it is to see an early...

This is my system... Mint: A perfect card. No scratches, edge wear, bends, or creases. Near Mint-Mint: A card that has never been played. May have the tiniest defect like one small spot of edge wear or the tiniest scratch. Good-Excellent: May have some lighter edge wear or scratching...

    Points system

I'm pretty sure the pro is that it basically means an auto trade with not much need for debating as well as the OP getting a better deal than straight trading/buying. Seems like a lot of points threads are huge rip offs but it could just be me.

Dark Dragonite Error Sold For $10,000 Yesterday

I consider them to be 1st edition JPN Base set cards...they are very hard to find. No drastic miscuts? Say what?!? The Slowking is my treasure, not sure if I am gonna let it go or not because of how rare it is to see an early Japanese error like that.
