I don't think you will be required to see them to complete the pokedex. They will probably be listed under forme otherwise Gamefreak would have to go through by adding however many Mega pokemon they have to the numbers.

To be fair Ampharos looks more Dragon like than its two previous formed (Mareep and Flaffy), hardly even resembles a sheep anymore. Mega Ampharos almost makes it look like an Eastern Dragon.

Mawile has been confirmed so we can strike that off of our list of wants. Honestly everyone saw that one coming. I still think we have others that will be retyped. If the Clefairy line does not get retyped then there will be a storm of angry fans preparing to protest Game Freak.

One problem, you wouldn't be able to eliminate a weakness for Jolteon without eliminating a weakness for electric types. Yes I understand that was a joke (or at least I hope it is one) Yes I know levitate but that makes less sense on Jolteon than on Elektross.
