Discussion Just Me, or Did Gen 5 and 6 TCG Sets Feel... Incomplete?

That's untrue. They could just release a card of any form. The fact they're not obtainable in Sun/Moon without importing it doesn't really mean anything. It's not like Pokemon like Diancie or Unown are obtainable in a Gen 7 game either. I feel it's worth pointing out there are many Pokemon that...

News 'Dark Order,' Japan's October Mini-Set!

You probably misworded Torracat there. Roar typically makes the opponent choose what's switched. Interesting, Nanu can switch out evolved Pokemon for basics it would seem, going by that wording. Could be interesting to, say, devolve a GX or the like.

Discussion Just Me, or Did Gen 5 and 6 TCG Sets Feel... Incomplete?

Deerling/Sawsbuck and the megas are the only major omissions IMO. Forms are usually only covered for very distinctive ones (such as Rotom, Wormadam or Unown) or ones with literally only 2 (like Basculin or Gastrodon). I wouldn't expect things like Arceus or Cosplay Pikachu to be part of a main...

    Help misspelt card?

It's fake. Typoes in Pokemon cards are rare. And in particular, I don't think there has ever been one in a card's name. http://pokegym.net/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=51440 ^ That is a picture of a legitimate one. The font used for the attacks is very different from your one, which is a...

'Explosive Impact,' Japan's SM8 Set; Raises Questions About Switch Release

Full-Art Blacephalon is quite possibly the single ugliest Full Art I have ever seen. (The rainbow looks good, though.)

News Tapu Lele-GX in 'Island Guardians-GX Premium Collection' This Fall!

Beating decks with Lele doesn't necessarily mean your deck's not inconsistent. (Or less consistent than it would be with Lele, which is basically guaranteed.) I suspect Japan's format will remain SM-on even after our next rotation.

News 'Lost Thunder,' America's November Set!

Competitive players aren't the main market for blisters. I'd expect a Pokemon like Rowlett to sell BETTER than something like Malamar with actual competitive value.

    News TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX

I guess that's one way to get the unevolved Pokemon kids like onto Pokemon-GX without being too ludicrous. I'm not too shocked the next big gimmick involves 3-prize Pokemon. It's been focused on Pokemon-GX since Sun/Moon as-is.

Help What energy cards can be used?

Any print of a card that's functionally identical to a card that's in-format is legal. (Not counting foreign or World Championship cards of course.) Energy are no different to Pokemon or Trainers in this regard. Just keep in mind that (usually, there's a small number of exceptions that have...

Discussion Lost Zone Making A Comeback?

Oh, I totally plan on building a stupid Unlimited Lost World FTK deck at some point, lol. The fact that's even possible kinda depresses me, though.

Discussion Seaking has been forgotten for too long

Not everything requires rulings. How fossil Pokemon work is very straightforward. I'm not going to apologize for stating they don't need specific rulings, because they really don't. (Again, how they work is WRITTEN ON THE CARD, and probably didn't need to be.) The TCG is not the video games...

Discussion Seaking has been forgotten for too long

I don't see why that kind of distinction is required. There is no real confusion. It's also not exclusive to Expanded and Unlimited. Restored Pokemon are still currently in Standard, including a couple that have since gotten a Stage 1 counterpart as well. For instance, Shieldon is available in...

Discussion Seaking has been forgotten for too long

Looking at that list and what's been printed since, there is a VERY small list of Pokemon left. (And realistically, I wouldn't consider the ones last printed in the BW-era to be THAT "forgotten" anyway.) Also, considering the fact we haven't gotten a "Unova Set" yet, where most of those...

New 'Pokemon TCG: Poke Ball Tins' in November!

Yay, an even less useful tin form factor.

    PTCGO New features?

No joke, the new feature I want the most: It to remember what display method you used for your collection. I NEVER want to see that useless carousel view again. Other things: Make it easier to see which Theme Decks you've unlocked. (Including making all the names and order consistent, same...

Discussion Seaking has been forgotten for too long

Seaking is far from forgotten. It's just not an exciting Pokemon. Realistically, barring cards they specifically avoid (so babies, Kadabra and by extension Abra), there aren't that many super-neglected Pokemon. There's just a huge number of Pokemon. And the fact that Seaking is Water, one of...

    SM7a 'Fairy Rise' Announced!

I feel like Meloetta's probably at least somewhat incorrect here. It doesn't have a "10x" damage number. I'm guessing you can probably hit any of the opponent's Pokemon and not just their active, particularly since it doesn't apply Weakness/Resistance. (Can't read Japanese, so just a guess.)...

Discussion Random Underground Expedition Full Art Question

No, the character is completely TCG-original. I think they mostly wanted more generic humans for e-Reader applications. The e-card sets have quite a few TCG-original characters. They're not as common now, but still happen, though. Blacksmith wasn't based on an existing character for instance...

'Mega Charizard X vs. Mega Blastoise Battle Arena Decks' Announced!

The main point of these products is to reprint stuff for Expanded. (Heck, these have Lysandre, which isn't CURRENTLY Standard legal.) They're also good entry points into the game for newer players if they don't care about tournament legality. Neither of those require them to be Standard-legal...

News Tapu Lele-GX in 'Island Guardians-GX Premium Collection' This Fall!

Not surprised that Lele got a reprint. I think the extra run of Roaring Skies made it pretty clear they knew they screwed up with Shaymin-EX. (It's also possible they opted not to reprint Shaymin since the alternate art promos weren't a thing yet, and it would've kept Shaymin in format longer.)...
