Fun The Theme Deck Faking Thread

Well, I've done all the Sun & Moon era sets... Let's try some SM-era style Theme Decks with older sets, shall we? (This, it would appear, is harder than I first thought. Well, we'll try anyway!) The Third Gem (EX: Ruby & Sapphire) Cosmic Radiance (EX: Sandstorm) Mudslide (EX: Dragon)...

    Card Errors Database (Include Images!)

I'd guess all three are fake. The latter two (especially the Pidgeotto, that kind of error simply doesn't happen) for sure. The first one is maybe plausible enough to maybe be genuine, but I doubt it. (And really, you'd need to provide images of these cards to be 100% certain.)

    SM6b \'Champion Road\'

Even after Brigette rotates, Pokemon Fan Club's also much more likely to be used than Dunsparce. The problem with set-up attackers is that they're slow, especially if you go first. They also take up space once they're done. (Which, for Dunsparce, is basically immediately.) There's a reason why...

    I found this outside

It also happens to be incredibly difficult to rip a foil Pokemon card, especially as cleanly as that. Reverse holos, too. The metal layer tends to stretch rather than tear.

Japan's SM6+ Set, 'Dragon Storm,' Plus 'Champion Road' Mini-Set!

Need I remind you that one of the most used Pokemon Tools of all time (certainly of the last few years) is also a small rock?

Discussion Why do we still call Full Art cards Full Art?

You know... They're called Full Arts in PTCGO, too. It's not just a fan term. (I'm fairly certain it was an official term in the first place, though I don't know how I'd go about verifying that.) Also, regular GX's aren't actually full-art anyway. They have solid colours at the top and bottom...

Fun The Theme Deck Faking Thread

Let's see if I can pull off one from each Sun/Moon set... I won't do descriptions since I'm not super-creative in that way, but I'll at least try to come up with decent names... Alolan Eclipse (Sun & Moon) Gooey Slush (Guardians Rising) Thundering Pixies (Burning Shadows) Trial by Fire...

PTCGO Breach in Security and Stolen Items

There's also the fact you can trade things other than cards. It would get messy if things like packs were involved, since it's plausible for a pack to be traded, then opened, which complicates it much further, and making exceptions for card-only trades makes it more confusing. It's mostly the...

    Discussion Bonnie verbiage

There'd be no way for Mew-EX, etc. to re-use a GX attack in this way unless the Supporter specifically mentioned the name of the GX attack rather than the name of the Pokemon. Simply put, it's not Zygarde-GX's attack if it's being used by Mew-EX, it's Mew-EX's attack, the fact it's not printed...

Discussion Funnest decks for blowing stuff up.

Psychic Mirage doesn't work with Necrozma GX, it checks how many cards it discarded. (Incidentally, this means things like Super Boost Energy don't work for extra damage, either.)

Discussion Funnest decks for blowing stuff up.

I know you likely deliberately discounted flip-until-tails attacks from your point and all, but even without INFINITE heads, 57 heads on Steelix EX would still outdamage this, so I think it's fair to consider that. (And would allow for many more damage boosters as well, since you only need 5...

Collecting Wrong card numbers in Guardians Rising

Heh, yeah, that is weird. Pokemon within the same rarity get sorted by National Pokedex number. Alolan Ninetales comes well before Primarina, sharing its number with its Kanto counterpart.

Errata for Cyrus Prism Star Officially Announced!

Then they didn't lose squat. It's not like the older copy is suddenly unusable. And realistically, since players are expected to know all errata, it shouldn't make any difference.

Errata for Cyrus Prism Star Officially Announced!

I doubt they destroyed any already printed product. So all this really did is make it so some copies of the card out in the wild are incorrect. Which, given Pokemon's policy on errata, should in theory be a non-issue.

'Solgaleo-GX' and 'Lunala-GX Boxes' in March!

Solgaleo will probably see a LITTLE play, but it's not going to be on the same level as something like Silvally. It's Stage 2, which changes things a lot. Lunala's not going to see any play. Much too heavy on its attack costs, as well as being a Stage 2.

Discussion The Pokemon Ultra Prism Prerelease

Ended up coming something like 6th (out of 30ish people), only (narrowly) losing to the person that came second. Oddly, I didn't pull ANYTHING above Rare, even in my packs at the end. My deck was similarly unimpressive, just the metal half of the premade deck, an extra Magnemite and a few added...

Help How Does Pokemon's Rotation Work? (Sorry, New Player)

It's not that rare. There's probably more unique Pokemon from older sets allowed than there are Trainers. Of course, virtually none of them (aside from Surfing Pikachu, Caterpie and Weedle) are from before XY, but still, XY-Ancient Origins still counts, and thanks primarily to Generations and...

Help How Does Pokemon's Rotation Work? (Sorry, New Player)

It's not just Trainers. Pokemon that are identical in every way that affects the card's function (so things like art don't count) to a card in a current set are also Standard-legal. As a couple of examples of old-ass cards that are legal, Base Set Caterpie and Weedle are identical in every way...

News Legendary Pokemon Distributions, TCG Products Announced for 2018: Explains Some Things!

Hmm. Interesting. The related Legendary quiz on the Pokemon website confirms that Type: Null's a legendary and the Ultra Beasts aren't.

SM5+ 'Ultra Force' Releasing in January!

They'll be split between different sets, like usual. For instance, we got the stuff from SM1+ (The Strength Expansion Pack Sun & Moon), such as Altar of the Sunne and Politoed (hence why there's no Poliwag or Poliwhirl in the set) in Guardians Rising. That being said, we haven't gotten any of...
