Megazone- How do you counter it?

Donphan is your best bet. It goes with the overall theme of tanking, and with Scizor having Special Metals and Samurott having his ability, you won't be hurting your bench for long, if at all. 2-2 Donphan with 2 Pluspowers will be enough, so you just need to take out 1 more card from your deck.

What other old mechanics do you wish to see again?

Guys, RSE era. Look at the cards from that period, best balance of Pokemon TCG history IMO. Splashable basics, splashable Poke-powers, lots of cards to support come backs, powerful Pokemon had the EX drawback, energy costs were just right; was it perfect? I can't say for sure, but I will say it...

Cards that you want to be remade.

RE: If you could create an Ability for the TCG Didn't stop Gardevoir from being tier 1 for God knows how long, and Porygon Z was BDIF in Japan for the same reason.

    Anti-Catcher Stadium?

It's nothing to do with whether BDIFs exist, rather the game is advancing in a very childish manner - increasing the HP and damage and reducing energy costs dramatically and making abilities more and more abusive like Bright Look and Inferno Fandango, to the point where it takes away a lot of...

    Anti-Catcher Stadium?

GOW/Catcher IS a broken card, but it doesn't matter in a format that is already full of imbalanced cards like Emboar, Reshiram, Zekrom, Donphan etc. The only reason why I'm looking at GOW/Catcher in a positive light is because they're balancing the format of broken cards with another broken...

    State of the Names

Combining the title Pokemon into a name for the deck is fine, so long as it's catchy, like Luxchomp or Megazone/MegaJudge. If it's UmbreVileMukPluff or Donmegaark, then we have a problem. There can be creativity in combining Pokemon names as well, such as Raybees and Rambo (Reshiboar).

What other old mechanics do you wish to see again?

Yes it should be brought back, probably with a new Pokemon since Machamp already has its Prime, and the new Pokemon will probably have more than 130HP.

    Ursaring Prime/ Vileplume/ Yanmega Prime/ Roselia

Personally I think Trainer Lock should run Sage rather than Juniper, because Trainer lock is a lot slower at playing down cards, with several supporters and Pokemon lines being in hand, you could be stuck with Juniper and no choice but to discard them all. Sage's can let you keep the handful of...

What other old mechanics do you wish to see again?

Machamp SF's "Take Out", that needs to be brought back IMO, I'm not a fan of basics that have 130HP and make a mockery of Stage 2s. "Take Out" should be rebalanced so it's not used to donk poor Weedles and Caterpies, adjusting the energy cost should suffice. I wanted to say it shouldn't KO...

    Ursaring Prime/ Vileplume/ Yanmega Prime/ Roselia

Yea you should, I don't see a reason to want to start with Roselia, or having more than 1 Roserade on the bench. 2-2 is fine IMO. I think the deck needs more attackers though, now you only have 5 (3 Ursaring and 2 Yanmega), and with the possibility of at least one in the prize, that brings it...

    Tier List (Update: 12/9)

RE: Tier List Steelix wouldn't be so "suck" in people's minds if they stopped imagining him to be only playable with Scizor/Klingklang. Pairing him with combinations of Yanmega/Donphan/Zoroark/Cinccino will give him a fair shot at Fire decks, while an even to favourable match up against other...

    Ursaring Prime/ Vileplume/ Yanmega Prime/ Roselia

How about a 3-3 Yanmega and 2-2 Roserade instead? Roserade stays on the bench mostly, so having more attackers should be more important Max out the Collector, and maybe 2 Pokemon Communication? I know it is Trainer lock but even in my list I included 2. The additional speed it gives is great...

    Stelix prime help!

Donphan is important because Magnezone is another one of Steelix's Achilles heel. There really isn't any substitute powerful Fighting type until the next few sets are released. Zekrom donk, unless it does donk, shouldn't be any issue. You can stand a chance against Reshiram variants by...

    Stelix prime help!

Reshiram and Magnezone are Steelix's greatest obstacle in this format. If you want to make a Steelix deck, you must have strong counters to those two, so Zoroark and Donphan Prime are good partners for Steelix. 3-3 Steelix 3-3 Donphan 2-2 Zoroark 1-1 Cleffa/Tyrogue 4 Pokemon Communication 4...

    dark/steel

Take out the Metagross line, it's a pretty bad card. Stage 2 with the same HP as Reshiram/Zekrom and a flippy attack that costs 4 energy: Uh, no. Steelix Prime with Zoroark and a 1-1 Umbreon as a Magnezone/Yanmega counter. That should work.

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

The energy attachment for going first is a sufficient advantage, since the player going second has no means on donking via BTS/Rare Candy, unless any babies are involved, in which case is the deck builder's problem.

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

A lousier format last season doesn't change the fact that the this is a lousy ruling. It's comparing poop to a slightly bigger poop. When TPCi changed the game and made going first/second have it's own pros and cons, it was the step in the right direction, to make this a fun, skill-based...
