Ok i just had a quick question about Absol... You know how it says if this is the turn u played it thsi attack can do 40 damage, i know absol is used for disruption but i found this quite useful if u go second with bucks in yoour hand, can take out that dangerous horsea ... but yea my question is:

Lets say u place Absol is your startingpokemon, can you do his second attack if u got first, and can u do it if u go second?, cuz u didnt really put the pokemon down that turn, but it is still ur first turn ... yea i just wanted that cleared up

OOOO and one more quetion, can u do a rare candy to evolve on ur first turn, and also can u do lv X first turn, cuz im not sure if that even counts as evolving ...
yea sorry for all teh questions, anyone out there with the anwsers , it's greatly appreciated!

You have to put it on the bench to get the +30 effect, so starting with it would result in only 10 damage with the second attack.
Yes you can, as long as you went second. Playing a lvl X follows the same rules as evolving, so you can't play it turn 1.

Setup is turn 0.
Turn 1 is turn 1.
That's the easiest thing to remember to avoid these mistakes.
If you want a starter that can hit for 40 T1 (50 with a Sp Dark), then SF delivers:

Sableye LV.31 – Darkness – HP60
Basic Pokemon

Poke-Body: Rashness
If this Pokemon is an Active Pokemon when the cards are flipped over at the beginning of the game, regardless of who won the coin toss, the owner of this card goes first. (This Body doesn’t work if the opponent’s Active Pokemon also has a Rashness Poke-Body.)

[.] Human Mimic: Search your deck for a Supporter card, discard it, and shuffle your deck. Then, use the effect of the discarded card as an effect of this attack.
[D] Overreach: 10 damage. If the Defending Pokemon’s remaining HP is less than Sableye’s remaining HP, this attack does 40 damage instead of 10.

Weakness: none
Resistance: Colorless (-20)
Retreat: 1

yea sableye seems like an awsome starter! i know im going to see alot of him being played in the near future

I really don't see how you can hit for 40 w/ absol if you go first unless you have a Pokemon with free retreat.

Let's say you have a Baltoy start, and you're going first.

You lay down Absol from your hand.

But:
- You can't play trainers, so you can't switch to Absol.
- You'd have to attach energy to active, and manually retreat. But then, how would you attack with Absol, you already wasted your energy attachment.
- You can't play trainers like PP or Bucks if you go first.

so I kinda find T1 Absol useless.
