MONTHLY CONTEST I​

I am going to be holding a Monthly Spriting Contest from this point on.
This month I am accepting 10 contestants. There will be 5 contests as follows:

1. Trainer Sprite
2. Fusion (At least three, using Pikachu)
3. Revamp
4. TCG Banner
5. Anything

You will be graded in 100 points. Your score will be averaged at the end of the competition.

Creativity: 20 points
Conventions: 50 points
Theme: 10 points
Complexity: 20 points

I'll enter this one. Say, what do you mean by 'conventions?'

I've got the most common use:

A gathering, esp. of businesspeople

AND

A tradition or custom, i.e. putting North at the top of the map.

I just want to know because I'll be optimising my spriting potential to the judging. Do you mind if I post the 'appeals' in different category when I post my pieces of work?

Conventions in my terms means something like:
"How is the shading done? Is the light source right?"
"Is the outline complete? Is it correct?"
