Hi! I'm in the middle of making a deck for States this weekend and was hoping to get some advice on my deck:

Strategy: Lock down the opponent by disabling abilities with Garbador and Paralyzing them with Articuno. Kyurem NVI is good for early tanking/spread damage.

Right now I'm on the fence regarding a few things:

-Do lasers help or hinder my strategy? Taking them out gives me 5 extra card spots, but the extra damage is nice since they can't retreat

-I do not own any catchers, so would it be better for me to run more Escape Rope to make the opponent switch? That way I can continue to para-stun them and then take out their bench with Kyurem

-What's the best way to get my Pokemon out reliably? I tend to have trouble getting a Garbador out early, and I don't want to be sitting around without Articuno or Kyurem early game

Any tips are appreciated!!

Drop the HTLs and Virbanks. Add three Poke Comms or whatever you prefer as your Pokemon engine, and two Water Energies. Best of luck at States!

Please include reasons for your suggestions. ~alex

I disagree with these suggestions completely.

Hypnobank is downright CRUCIAL in this deck, and 11 Water is actually a bit much! My working build only runs 8, and I never run out of Water. If you can wait for a moment, I can post my list. I don't have Kyurem, I actually run straight Garbodor and Articuno, but hopefully you can take tips!

EDIT: link to my decklist is right here-

The only changes I made was dropping my Energy Retrievals and one Super Rod for a Trubbish, a Laser, and a Switch.

Now, for your questions:

1. Lasers are SO useful earlygame. If you don't want/like them, try Hammers.

2. Run Escape Rope over Catcher, but only 3 copies with 4 Switch.

3. Running more Garbodors and Trubbish is the best way.

Thanks for the help! I was wondering about your low Skyla count - do you have any trouble getting colress machines early on?

None at all! I usually have a T2 or 3 Frost Prison ready!
