Blastoise Techs for Virgen

I love being bad

I have been a huge fan of Keldeo/ Blastoise for a long time. My only problem is Virgen (with the Goodra coming out I don't care about garb) and with my deck the matchup is 40/60. I would like to tech a little harder against it, and I play a Delfox for draw power, with muscle bands already, so maybe tech a rainbow (Blastoise can deluge it. I am still looking for better techs, especially when Goodra comes out.

RE: Keldeo/ Blastoise BKEX techs for Virgen?

You see, VirGen is also a problem for me, but you have BKEX for that, you can Max Potion it everytime you need to, as Genesect does 100 (w/ Muscle Band 120) you can simply Max Potion it everyt turn. OR. You can use the new Dusknoir, the one that gathers all the Damage counters form your Pokémon and Max Potion it. But I don't recommend the last option.

Or maybe you can add some Rainbow Energy and add either Victini EX, Charizard EX or Entei EX. They deal enough damage to kill a Genesect EX.

Ok. What do you think about Delfox for now, and I was also thinking Charizard EX.

Yeah, it's good. But just use 1. Oh and there's one problem, sometimes, BKEX is in the prizes so it's good to have Delphox.

RE: Blastoise Techs for Virgen?

Just a note on the OP: Neither Prism, Blend or Rainbow Energy can be Deluged/Inferno Fandango'd because they count as [C] when not attached to a Pokemon.

RE: Blastoise Techs for Virgen?

Run lots of Black Kyurem EX (3), and as thick of a Blastoise line as you can get (4-1-4 is what I'd consider thick). If you can get a turn 2-3 Black Ballista, and set up enough Blastoise to the point where they can't kill them all, you will win, no question. You need to constantly be using Black Kyurem; Keldeo isn't really an option. Black Kyurem is just too strong for them to deal with, but if they catch you without one, they can pretty easily make a comeback.

No. Just no. 3 is way too many. I also play heavy ball, so, its easier to get it anyway. And If you suggest 3 lightning, they clog your hand. I don't like those thick lines, because they also clump your hand late-game, and then you lose. And I also play super rod, so if both are out, I can get them back twice, because dowsing, but after 3 are KO'd you lose. And Baby ray simply destroys BKEX.

Thanks. Its kinda like attaching that one lightning for BKEX.

Machamp's trying to help you and he's good at this game, so why make the thread if your not going to take the advice of people. Nobody plays babyray much, and certainly not VirGen, which is what this thread is about. Super Rod is bad in Blastoise, I haven't even seen the lists but I can guarantee you that all the Blastoises that won states (a lot) didn't run Super Rod. You have 4 Superior ERs anyway, and thicker lines for consistency>super rod.

Blastoise can not Deluge Rainbow energy since it is "Colorless" while in your hand. On the other hand, teching in 1-2 R energy (which are recoverable) would help (but a bit messy given the 3 different energy types).

Not knowing exactly what your list consists of, did you consider running Catchers in your list? Although Catchers require a flip, they can tip the game-win scales in your favor. But even without Catchers, I've found that I can just "out-speed" VirGen deck players since I can get more energy into play than they can. Secondly, they are also dependent upon G Booster for 1HKOs on BKEX (I run 3); and that 1 card can be prized or Scrapper'd away.

Lastly, what about Reshiram as your starter? Reshi (no changes to current energy mix required) would enjoy the Emerald Slash damage which provides a potential 1H response Outrage KO...

Reshiram isn't bad but what about the new Pyroar from Flashfire? Play Professor's Letter to get a Fire energy to attach onto Pyroar and then Deluge 2 Water onto it on the same turn and swing for 180 on Genesect or Virizion with Silver Bangle attached without needing to discard the Fire attachment.
