Strategy:

I am hoping to create a lock down deck using Glaceon EX’s Crystal Ray attack, Jolteon EX’s Flash Ray attack with the Vileplume item lock ability. Ideally, I would like to be able to switch easily between Jolteon and Glaceon using Ninja Boy, Float Stones if I can get them out, and maybe an Escape Rope. I am considering putting Umbreon EX into the deck as well for the Endgame move, but am wondering if that would be too much going on in the deck. I am also wondering about retrieving special energy from the discard pile or my deck - which cards are good for that?

Any advice on the trainers/supporters/stadiums, amount of energy (too much?), and whether to include Umbreon or not would be great! Thank you!

Note: I am willing to consider adding at most 1 Shaymin into the deck as I would like to take this deck to my first regionals. Thanks!

A few thoughts for your consideration:
  • As long as there are cards like Lysandre and the new Pokémon Ranger, you ability to effectively "lock" an opponent may not actually happen too often.
  • In order to help get a Vileplume into play quickly, consider running 2 Level Balls too with just a 3-2-2 Vileplume line. The Level Balls can search and get the Oddish and Gloom without discarding any extra cards. Should you use Level Balls, you could also reduce your Brigette count to just 1.
  • Once you activate Vileplume's Irratating Pollen, you also can not play any Items too. So, you may want to include a Hex Maniac (maybe 2 even - play-testing can help you determine the right count for you) in order to negate this Ability at times. Consider -1 Lysandre for +1 Hex Maniac.
  • 3 Ninja Boy seem quite excessive; consider just running 2.
  • 3 Float Stones seem excessive; consider reducing this count to just 2.
  • You may want to also incorporate a Special Charge in order to recover and recycle discarded Special energy.
  • 7 Stadiums are definitely excessive, IMO. Consider just running 3 FoGP (which you need early game), 1 Parallel City and 1 Rough Seas. Incorporating a Skyla too can be helpful, as well.
I hope you find these comments helpful.
