Well, didnt no where this goes, so i will put it here. Are you? Cause I kinda am. I mean my friends no I play like yellow and stuff, but those are old school, and thus acceptable. But other then that, I hide all my pokemon stuff, and say its my brothers. What about you guys? Are any of you guys embarrassed like me?

Well, I've got nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone in my 5th grade class knew I liked pokemon, and my 2 friends talk about it very openly. But we are (or were) in elementary school, so.... :/

I'm in 10th grade and heck.
I play Platinum at lunch. And 20 people sit around me. I can care less about what they think.
And I walk around stores with the volume up and stuff. XD

I'm not embarrassed one bit because its something I like, if my friends didn't approve of me liking it I wouldn't have any friends. So I'm not embarrassed cause all my friends know I like it. u.u

Got it SotH. What does that even mean? Lol. Anyways, like I just cant get past the telling part. I would feel so ashamed to like such a kiddy thing. Its not a kiddy thing of course, cause one person takes a look at IVs and secret IDs and faints lol...but I mean on the surface it is a kiddy thing, and I just feel like my friends would laugh at me...

Y'know, I used to be very ashamed about it, but when D/P came out and I was in 7th Grade, my close friends noticed that I reserved it. When they came over one night, I showed them all the cool things that were in it, and they didn't really care. Then when I started talking about it again, a lot of other friends around me joined in, and I realized most of us were emberassed about it and keeping it a secret. All it took was one brave person to admit it, and now I am completely comfortable with it. In fact, it's like a pride thing at my High School now to be like "Yeah, I play Pokemon. So what?". Just be yourself, but open up slowly but surely. You might be surprised! :p

Hmm, so you must be going into 10th grade, as it was the exact same for me. I just keep it kinda hidden, and idk, I am just a scared person when it comes to that stuff...

You know what I did to sorta break the ice? I was like "Hey, have you guys seen Pokemon Platinum version? My brother got it, and he showed me all the cool stuff they've added. I bought it, and I'm addicted to Pokemon again!" Of course, it was D/P when I said that, but if you sit down and show them all the new things (my friends were REALLY into the Underground), they come to respect it, and maybe even play it again. GIve it a shot! :)

I think I will! I will be like my bro got it, and i was bored so i played it, and its really fun! Actually, one of my friends also plays it, and i comfortably talk to him about it, but all others are no...

The problem is they think it's for kids, because the only thing about Pokemon they see are the anime (in my opinion that is for kids and all those toys for kids). If they would know the whole ID/SID/EV/IV and battling about it... I think they fastly would change their minds. Anyway, Wi-Fi battling is definately not for kids and it takes a big amount of knowledge to play it good. Well I don't know if my friends know it, but well I don't care...

That's fantastic! Let me know how it works out! :)

And Pokequaza, I feel your pain. I STILL have a hard time convincing people that it takes INCREDIBLE strategy to accel in the world of Pokemon Competitive Battling... -_-'

Lol im not embarresed to play it in front of my Best friends. Lol they all play it also exept for my friend Sara who does not get the real games :p lol instead she plays the Mystery Dungeon games.
When im with my other friends i dont usualy play it.

I used to get a lot of flak for even bringing the games to school. I never really cared about what people thought of it, though. I still don't.

Why be embarrased? To be frank, no one cares if you do play. People will make fun of anything you do anyway. If people have a problem with what I play, then I guess I'll just give them a smile and say "hello". :)

I'm Junior(a.k.a "10th grade"), and I seriously dont care. Especially in a school like mine where most people find anyway to please themselves(ok, that maybe a little harsh, but still its somewhat true).

I openly admit that I play it. There's this one kid I know who is a greater poke-nerd than I am who receives a lot of negative attention though. This could be because he brings his DS to class on a regular basis.

Half my school does nerdy things. I'll play it, but only on trips and stuff(most of the jv and freshmen boys on tennis). We have almost every TCG in our school....except pokemon. I don't talk about the cards, but really don't care.

I'm not embarrassed about playing Pokemon. I've seen a lot of people playing it in school, and I'm in High School! I used to play it in school also. I don't do that anymore though, because I'm worried someone might steal my DS. :p

What I hate is how younger students in the school tend to mock me for liking Pokemon, but I openly admit I like it, and if they've got a problem with it, keep it to themselves. My life, not theirs.

Lol i got a dsi so i dont play it either...because its valuable...but otherwise, i dont really play in school, cause i am kinda embarrased
