I didnt exactly know how to how this question in a way for me to search it, sorry if this is common knowledge, but with me being ocd, I cant rest til I know a definitive answer.

Basically, say, my card is a psychic pokemon, with an attack of 20. The text would state flip a coin, it heads this attack does 20 more. Now lets say I attack a mewtew, which has the weakness of psychic, and I flip the coin, get the heads. Now, am I doing 20 damage times 2, plus 20, or doing 40 damage times 2? Also, if there are any variances as to where this could vary, let me know. I cant think of one, but I enjoy the extra knowledge.

In the rulebook, it states the order of how you figure out damage. You start with the base damage which is usually the number written off to the right. Then you figure out damage effects on the Attacking Pokemon (this would include things like Focus Energy that increase damage, and as you pointed out, coin flip effects that add damage, etc.). Then you increase the damage for Weakness, reduce for Resistance, and so on.

So you would do 20 damage + 20 from the coin flip which is 40 and then apply weakness which is 80.

dmaster out.
