How do LvXs work?

The DP cards havent arrived in our area yet. However, I saw some cards on the internet and me and my local friends have a lot of questions regarding the new Lv-Xs:
- Does putting Infernape Lv-X on Infernape count as evolving?
- If so, does the LvX count as a stage3?
- If it is a stage3, does that mean Rare Candy cant be used on it?(since it only mentions stage1 and stage2)
- Does Infernape LvX count as a Pokemon ex and can cards like desert ruins affect it.
- How many prizes do we draw when a LvX is knocked out?

I've forgotten the rest of the questions. I'll post them later.

Lv X are not stage 3 pokemon as in dp 2 they got Lucario Lv.X (which Lucario is a stage 1 pokemon) so Lv .X cards are not stage 3 pokemon. When they are knocked out take 1 prize only.
When the pokemon becomes Lv.X its special conditions are removed and it can use its previous level atks, pokepower ,pokebody. But Lv .X can only be used to level up the active pokemon which matches the Lv.X card.

[I'm typing this directly from the rulebook:]

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Appendix A: Pokémon LV. X

Pokémon LV. X are brand new in the Pokémon TCG: Diamond & Pearl expansion. They represent a Pokémon that has been trained to the highest lvels possible, giving it powerful attacks and new abbilities, along with more HP and different Retreat Costs.

- Special Rules for Pokémon LV. X

Pokémon LV. X can't be played on the turn that POkémon had evolved. (For example, if you evolved your pokémon Torterra this turnh, you could not play Torterra LV. X on that Pokémon.)

When a Pokémon LV. X is played, it keeps all cards attached to it as well as any damage counters it already had. It also keeps all attacks, Poké-Powers, and Poké-Bodies from the earlier level.

When a Pokémon LV. X is played, it removes all Special Conditions and other effects from that Pokémon.

For deck construction, Pokémon LV. X count as that POkémon. (You can only have 4 Torterra in your deck---it could be 2 Torterra and Torterra LV. X, but not 4 of each.)

If an effect removes the Highest Stage evolution card from a Pokémon LV. X, Pokémon LV. X is not considered an Evolution card. Instead, you would remove the earlier evolution that the Pokémon LV. X is on top of, and then remove the Pokémon LV. X as it no longer matches the requirements for being played.

Pokémon LV. X can be found in boosters of Diamond & Pearl, adding an exciting new angle to your game.

That concludes the whole page 22 of my rulebook, so hopefully this helps you.

Refer to the the answer above...
