Ruling Mismagius Crash Chant

If I were to use Mismagius' (SF) Crash Chant attack with an Expert Belt attached, would it still do 20 extra damage even if I chose to discard the Expert Belt with the attacks effect making it a total of 40 damage?

Yes, it would. Damage is dealt before the discarding actually happens.
