MURDERER???

Four aspects- Jack Vicious, Sid Shifty, Alf Maggins & Jim Pouncer-are being intervieved at the scene of a murder. Each of the suspect is asked a question. Their answers are as follows.

Jack Vicious:"Sid Shiftr commited the murder".
Sid Sgifty:"Jim Pouncer commited the murder".
Alf Maggins:"I didn't commit the murder".
Jim pouncer:"Sid Shifty is lying".

Only one of the answers is the truth. Who commited the murder.

Sid and Jim's statements contradict, so one of them is telling the truth. So Jack and Alf are lying, meaning Alf commited it.

Jack Vicious. He did the crime because no thinks it's him and his name I think gives a little hint.
