Hey guys. I'm new to competitive battling and I need a little help. I don't really get the metagame and would like to get comfortable building teams and learn a little about the metagame.
Haha, I sure am busy lately with all of these newcomers. :]
So, what specifics do you need help with? Are you brand new to competitive battling, and need to learn the basics? Or, do you have some experience with teambuilding and battling mechanics, and just need an update on the metagame? I'd love to help in either instance, although if you're brand new to the game, don't expect to learn EVERYTHING overnight.
What specifically do you not get? Me, and SL are willing to help. If it's the BW/BW2 metagame you don't get then let me quickly outline it. Nowadays battling revolves around weather, not just that, the different kinds of weather. First off, you have Tyranitar, who can summon up Sandstorm. Quite a few Pokemon can abuse this, such as Sandslash, because he gets Sand Rush, his Speed instantly becomes HUGE in the sand, this isn't the only one, but we're treading lightly for now. The next type of weather you will encounter is Rain, and the Pokemon who summons this weather condition is Politoed. There are also a lot of Pokemon who can abuse this weather condition. One such is Thundurus/Thundurus-T. Why? Becomes in the Rain, Thunder gets 100% accuracy, and Thundurus can abuse this as a STAB to inflict powerful damage. The third of the four weather users, Ninetails, who summons up Sun. Thanks to sun, many Chlorophyll users, like Venusaur, get a speed boost, most of which can outspeed Choice Scarf Pokemon. The last, and rarest of the Weather summoners is Abomasnow. Abomasnow summons up Hail, which only a certain few Pokemon can really benefit. Walrein is probably the most infamous Hail abuser, being able to recover health quickly thanks to his ability, Ice Body. This is only a brief outline, if you want anymore information, p.m. one of us! And have fun battling
