Pokemon: 10

  • 4-4 Pyroar
    1 Mewtwo EX
    1 Charizard EX (Combustion Blast)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 38

  • 3 Roller Skates
    3 Ultra Ball
    3 Muscle Band
    3 Bicycle
    3 Switch
    3 Pokemon Catcher
    1 Startling Megaphone
    1 Computer Search (Ace Spec)
    4 Professor Juniper
    3 N
    3 Blacksmith
    3 Shauna
    3 Lysandre
    2 Pokemon Fan Club
Energy: 12

  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
    8 Fire Energy

Strategy:
Seismitoad EX was not working. It just felt clunky and didn't go well unlike most other decks. So I revamped it. My bigest threat to this deck though is Seismitoad. A lot of my draw comes from items. Luckily for me Pyroar 2HKO as well as Charizard EX. The only pokemon I will be playing on the bench are Pyroars as I have the power to power up Charizard in one turn. Shauna is a card new to me and has really nice draw. I added a Lysandre to deal with Trubbish and Chubchoo before they get out of hand (IE Evolve) and not leaving it up to chance with a pokemon catcher. This is what I think a pretty standard Pyroar decks and I have my first league challenge tomorrow and plan on using this to compete and hopefully place really high in it. Thoughts?

RE: New Pyroar? (Pyroar / Seismetoad EX)

I too run something similar; so, following are a few comments for your consideration:

  • I believe 4 Switch is excessive; consider incorporating Float Stones too. Once you attach a FS to your 'Toad and quaking Punch, you could then attach this Tool which your opponent can't Startling Megaphone off.
  • I also believe 4 Pokémon Catcher is excessive and you have a 50% of not having a favorable coin flip. Also, consider the mirror match which could render these PCs not useful at all.
  • From my playing experience, there are a few times when you may need to "swarm" your opponent with just Pyroars; so, incorporating a Pokémon Fan Club can help get your Litleos out fast.
  • With the large number of Items you are running, you might find incorporating 1-2 Skylas quite helpful.
  • Consider incorporating a Pal Pad to help recover and recycle discarded Supporters.
  • Consider incorporating a Professor's Letter to help search for R energy.
  • Why no Blacksmith?
Given the above comments, I'd suggest the following changes:

  • -2 Switch
    +2 Float Stone

    -4 Pokémon Catcher
    +1 Pal Pad
    +1 Professor's Letter
+2 Skyla - can also search for Stadiums too

    -2 Full Heal
    +1 Pokémon Fan Club
+1 Pokémon Center Lady or Cassius
I hope you find these comments helpful.

I agree with the float stones as it'll allow more flexibility in my deck. I also agree with the catchers as most of the time I really do not need them, I just remember winning the came with a few clutch catchers before. I have never had an issue with my supporters but I usually run 4N and 4 Proff so I'll have to see how that goes. I did add the Skyla because I was dumb and didn't realize it could get item as well.. As for the pokemon club I don't really like that idea, but I will be sticking with Pokemon Center Lady. I have made some changed to the deck and thank you so much for you input! Would love to know what you think about it now! :)

RE: New Pyroar? (Pyroar / Seismetoad EX)

Very nice, solid deck.

For me though, I'd make the following changes:

  • -1 Pyroar. 3 will be sufficient, IMO.
+1 Seismitoad EX. I would want to maximize my chances of starting with this Poké - it's awesome to get a T1/T2 Item lock.

    -1 Mountain Ring
+1 Mr. Mime. My thought is to have my opponent expend more resources to KO this Poké vs. just replacing a Stadium.
Btw, I find it really hard for me not to run at least 1 Pal Pad in my decks. From my experience, PPs are just too useful mid-to-late game when I need to recover and recycle certain, discarded Supporters (e.g., Lysandre).

Another Poké option (perhaps depending upon your area's metagame) to consider is Reshiram; I run 2 Reshiram (Outrage) in my deck. This is a great starting Poké for this deck, IMO.

Still, your changes, IMO, enhanced your deck - nice job.

You may want to incorporate 1-2 Pokémon Fan Club into your deck in order to help get your bench setup. Consider the following "high" (?) risks of this deck:

  • There are only 6 Basic Poké in this deck; so, there is a real good chance that you will mulligan a few times. Your opponent has the potential of out-speeding your setup. I'd suggest you run a 4th N too and/or Dedenne. Also, consider replacing 2 Roller Skates with PFCs.
  • You have a 50% of your Roller Skates failing, or 100% if Quaking Punch is in effect.

Thanks I updated the deck and came in 14th out of 30 which I didn't think was that bad. I took out one Lit and Pyroar for 2 toads. The only thing I found trouble some with this deck is Toads/Trev... But imho I feel toads have ruined the game :/
