Ruling Protection Cube

Hi guys,

I have a quick question regarding Protection Cube.

In regards to Gourgeist's "Spirit Scream" attack.

Does Protection Cube prevent damage counters from being put on Gourgeist if he uses Spirit Scream?

No it does not. Difference being the attack "places damage counters" rather than "doing damage".
