Hi everybody. This my first team that I think is good enough and I win with it 80% of the time. When I started building this team I asked myself what is the most dominant thing in the current metagame and the answer was of course weather. Rain got nerfed by Swift Swim+Drizzle ban, hail is better for stalling and I am a offensive player and sun abusers were poor imo. Then sandstorm it is! Extra damage every turn, best abusers and the ability to work well without sandstorm is amazing. Obviously other weather teams will be a problem so the key is to keep my sand streamer alive. I won't lie iI got the idea by looking at Kevin's and PDC's teams. It is a really fun team for me to use and be free to use it yourself.

TEAM BUILDING

(Tyranitar)

What is a sand team without sandstorm so the first pokemon on my team is Tyranitar. I choosed it over Hippowdon because he is more offensive than his Sand Streaming brother. Ability to put rocks on the field and wide movepool were the things I needed and Tyranitar gots both.

(Tyranitar)(Gliscor)

I love this thing. It can wall some of the biggest threat in the metagame like Excadrill, Conkeldurr, Terrakion, Breloom and even Garchomp if it doesn't miss the Ice Fang. Its great typing gives him some of the best resistances in the game plus the poison heal makes it my status sponge. It's the first part of my defensive core.

(Tyranitar)(Gliscor)(Jirachi)

Ever since I came across the para support set Jirachi on Kevin's team I used it on almost my every team. It has great synergy with Gliscor and Wish supports my team. He takes those troublesome ice type moves aimed at my Gliscor and Gliscor happily returns the favour by switching into Eartquakes. It's the second part of the core.

(Tyranitar)(Gliscor)(Jirachi)(Suicune)

I needed a water type for taking fire and water attacks. I also needed a pokemon that is more offensive bulky than Gliscor and Jirachi but still quite bulky so the choice came to Suicune. It was first used as a glue for my team but as I used it more and more he proved his spot on the team.

(Tyranitar)(Gliscor)(Jirachi)(Suicune)(Garchomp)

Good bulk, probably best offensive typing in the game, great attack, trollish speed and that 20% chance of miss in the sandstorm was the sole reason for using Garchomp. Every sand team needs one and mine is no different.

(Tyranitar)(Gliscor)(Jirachi)(Suicune)(Garchomp)(Terrakion)

The second fully offensive poke on my team. Great dual STAB, two boosting moves and the sp. Defense boost in sandstorm makes him quite bulky. Its ability is also good. +1 attack every time you get in on a dark type attack. Yes please.

CLOSER LOOK

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SAtk / 80 SDef
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast

My usual lead and the most important part of the team. It gets the rocks up and gets the sandstorm going. Standard lead set with enough sp. attack EV's to defeat Gliscor and Ferrothorn who think they can set up on me and rest to maximaze special bulk. Pursuit to weaken other weather starters when they try to escape. Quiet nature means that he is always slower than other weather starters and will always get sandstorm up when he leads. I am thinking of running Superpower over Ice Beam because Gliscors don't even try to switch into it anymore.

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Swords Dance
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

My main physical wall and first part of the Gliscor/Jirachi/Suicune core. Excadrill, Conkeldurr, Terrakion, Breloom , Garchomp say hello to this little guy. It also checks most fighting type pokemon. Poison Heal is the best thing that has happend to it giving him immunity to other statuses and healing 1/8 of your health every turn. Taunt to stop boosting up on it and Swords Dance to get your own boost up while they switch. Earthquake for reliable damage and Ice Fang for other Glicors and Garchomp or to break Air Balloons. EV's to have as much defense as posible but still retaining offensive power. Considering 252 HP/252 Def for those nasty hax chomps.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 216 SDef / 40 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Body Slam
- Iron Head

Main special wall and second part of the core. Its job is to deal with Latios, Thundurus and other special threats to my team. It absorbs ice attacks aimed at Gliscor. EV's are pretty straight forward. Protect is there for scouting moves and to heal with Wish. Body slam for the para hax and to do some damage and Iron Head to comlpete the famous para flinch combo. Great synergy with Gliscor.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Calm Mind
- Scald

Third part of the core and a mixed wall. He takes water and fire attacks like a champ which is really important when you consider half of my team is weak to water. At first he was a glue for the team, the only special attacker who resists water, but he suprised me at how well he performs. I sweept whole teams with this thing. CroCune was the choice of the set basicly because the Calm Mind + 3 attacks was very vulnerable to status and its speed is average at best. Max defense because it has no way of boosting is defense. I would really want some suggestions for the attack. Scald is good and has that good 30% chance for burn, Surf is more powerful and Hydro Pump is even more powerfbull but has less PP and that shaky 85% accuarcy.

Garchomp (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

Chomp is uberrr!!! Every second player I played against is complaining about HaxChomp. And you know what? They are absolutely correct. This thing is so broken it is not even funny. Sub down till the oponent misses and then boost and repeat this untill you end up with less than 25% health. Then proceed to sweep with appropriate move. Sand Veil gives him the crucial 20% chance for a miss. Combine that with an attack with a shaky accuarcy like Hydro Pump and you are sure to miss. Lefties give him ability to make five subs instead of four. And to top it all he is quite bulky. Consider that he isn't killed by Weaviles Ice Shard at full health. I rest my case.

Terrakion @ Air Balloon
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat

The second attacker of my team. Simple tactic with two boosting moves and two powerfull attacks. If you are facing a offensive team use Rock Polish and if you are up against stall team use Swords Dance. Seting up is a peace of cake for this monster because of his solid bulk and his sp. defense is boosted further by sandstorm. Close Combat and Stone Edge give him good coverage. His ability is also good givnig him +1 attack when switching into dark attacks. They aren't that common but still a good ability. I am not to sure about Air Ballon. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I hope you enjoyed reading this :D

inb4 Garchomp haters

The team overall seemed pretty solid when I played against it yesterday. I think the only thing I noticed was that it's a slight bit weak to Wash Rotom. Rotom can Will o Wisp to cripple Jirachi (even though Jirachi can paralyze in return.) and Hydro Pump/Thunderbolt hits everything else on the team for super effective damage, except for Garchomp. The only thing I can suggest getting in here would be Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn could get Spikes set up (which help Garchomp a lot against Defensive Stuff like Slowbro.), it can use Leech Seed to provide some kind of recovery, and it can use Thunder Wave. Thunder Wave would help since Gliscor isn't the fastest guy in the entire metagame. It would also allow Terrakion to run Swords Dance instead of Rock Polish if you want to, since Twave will slow down the stuff that normally outspeeds it.

Aside from that one thing, the team itself, like I said, looks pretty solid overall. Good luck using it in the future!

TPO3 you are reading my mind. Wash Rotom is my biggest enemy and it is very common these days. I usually switch to Suicune when Rotom comes in and then to Garchomp to take the Thunderbolt, but if i don't predict correctly it will W-o-W me. I thought of running Ferrothorn or Virizion instead of Suicune. And Terrakion already has Swords Dance.

Jolly Garchomp is still outrun by Jolly Infernape, but you should survive one attack from it.

Jolly Garchomp is still outside by Jolly Infernape, but it might miss you and you will be likely to survive one hit from it anyway.

AlienMLC, please do not revive a RMT that hasn't been posted in for two weeks. Thanks!
