If my SF pikachu is active (and evolved from pichu last turn) with 3{L}, and i leagally evolve into raichu with a memory berry attached, does the speed bolt's effect take place when I attack?

Please include a card scan in the future.~de

Speed Bolt says that if Pikachu evolved from Pichu this turn, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage done to Pikachu during opponent's next turn. However, if Pikachu evolved from Pichu last turn, Speed Bolt doesn't prevent anything. I believe it won't work if Pikachu evolves into Raichu with a Memory Berry. I'd like a second opinion from another professor.

Speed Bolt is self-referencing, but you only replace the name of the original Pokemon with the user:

"If Raichu evolved from Pichu this turn..."

That can't happen, so... that's my take on it.

^The only time that could happen is if you were using a Pichu from the Neo Set, and play a Rare Candy. Which, in this format, you can't do.
So yes. Raichu would have to evolve from Pichu on that turn for it to work.
