• When creating a thread in the Deck Garage, make sure that you post one deck per thread, you use the correct prefix, you have the set name/card number next to each card, you give a strategy for non-metagame decks, and give translations for all cards not available in English.

I Just made a deck for standard (my first deck since the rotation) and I was wondering what you guys think. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!

It's a nice list. I don't think there is actually anything to do here... My only thought really, is to add a pokemon ranger, but thats really a tech at this point. Bench Barrier Mr. Mime could also be a fun tech to keep Volcanion EX's alive against Fright Night Yveltal.
 
Yeah I was considering pokemon ranger for jolteon ex. Mr. Mime is a pretty good idea, but with FFB it might not be necessary. Thanks!
 
Nice, solid list. I don't see any "holes" per se that I would think requires perhaps "fixing"; so, you're at a point where "personal preferences" or "playing style" might be suggested for your consideration.

For example, it seems now that most Vocanion decks (I've encountered) all have simlar builds except perhaps for about 3 - 4 card differences. For example, my list:
  • Like yours, only incorporates 2 Shaymin EX; whereas one of the top Senior players (with repeated World tournament invites) in my area runs 3 Shaymin EX.
  • Definitely has 1 Pokémon Ranger when multiple, back-to-back Volcanic Heat attacks are needed (i.e., by same Volcanic EX).
  • Definitely has 1 Ninja Boy should the Active need t be switched to a different attacker (for example).
  • Also has 1-2 (still vacillating between these counts) Energy Retrieval.
  • Runs a mix of both Switch and Float Stone (which will be "seen" and gives an opponent an opportunity to just taget another Pokémon).
Again IMO, you have a nice, solid list. My preferences uses a few different cards and/or card counts.

Great advice! thanks! I forgot the Ninja boy. I will definitely take your recommendations into consideration. as for the shayin ex...well i only have two lol not spending 70 bucks on another

I know what you mean.... I may end up cutting 1 of Shaymin EXs jst to put into another deck.
