Can u play Rare Candy on turn 1 and evolve. I'm asking cause i was making an anti-kingdra deck, and this will really change the deck requirements? Thanks.

o darn, k thanks

so wait, would that mean if i go second, cud i normally evolve as well?, cuz i tohught this was not allowed?

Rare Candy breaks the rule of "You cannot evolve on the first turn."

Normally, no, you cannot evolve the first turn without the effect of something else.

It's not. Neither player can evolve from their hand on their first turn.

You can do some other legal play that causes you to evolve, though -- such as a Poke-Power or Trainer (if you go second).

If the number of "firsts" and "seconds" confuses you, think of it this way. A single person's turn is called... a turn. Both people's turns together are called Rounds. You can evolve with Rare Candy on your first turn provided you go second in the round. No regular evolution is permitted, and Trainers are permitted. By Round 2, you can do more or less everything you want to.

Not true, Rare Candy still goes by the rule of not being able to evolve on the first turn. The only reason why Rare Candy is such a good card is that you can skip a stage of evolution with it, same with Pokemon Breeder from Base Set.

So basically you can T2 Rare Candy but not T1, also you can't play Trainers, Supporters, and Stadium cards If you're going first but If your opponent goes second he/she can.

Hope that clears things up more...

^If you're going second, it's still your first turn. So T1 Candy is possible.

Sorry, but it is true -- you're wrong here. Effects of cards and Poke-Powers are not bound by the normal rules. If you can legally play the card (or use the Power), you do whatever it says.

You can play Rare Candy and evolve T1 (if you go second -- you can't play the Rare Candy at all if you go first). You can also use Rare Candy on a Pokemon you just played.
