Ruling Unown G vs Gyarados SF - Please help!!

Ok, so in a couple test runs this question came up in a match with my friend. I have Gyarados SF as my active, and he has Absol G with Unown G attached to it. Now, does Unown G stop Gyarados' Tail Revenge? This has been irking me for a while and i just want to know what is correct. Thanks

To sum it up: Will Unown G prevent Gyarados SF Tail Revenge from doing anything? (BTW assume 3 magikarp are in the discard)


Lastly: Will Unown G (on my active) prevent his Absol G's Doom Desire?

1. It does not stop it, as Gyarados' attack does physical damage to your Pokemon, not damage counters.

2. Yes, It would. I also think you meant Doom News.
