... yay but still it should be seperated in to 2 levels:
2nd: for all of the mature members that hardly ever spam
1st: people who are still have alot of spaming but are not new members
0: new members, newbie guide goes here

Post count means nothing. Anyone can post 1000 times a day and say nothing.

Yes, but I think many members don't think so. They spam, to get more posts and they think they get reputation if they post much.

I got to ask something. Is there a way that you can see how many posts have you made in some thread? In Clans/Clubs, there are many times ranks by posts and it would help leaders of clans. They would just look how many posts someone has in his clan and leader don't have to count all of that person's posts one-by-one. It takes a lot of time.

I think Clans & Clubs should be in a 13+ group. Just a suggestion. In many clans/clubs, there are many young people, who spam a lot... And it would be another goal to reach, by posting intelligent posts.

No Way.....alot of my members are 11-13 and are NOT NOOBS at ALL......I say 10+

A lot of new members think that veteran members are people who have a level of 40+ (on the bars below our avatars). This results in a lot of new members spamming just to increase their level and ultimately look good. When in reality, veteran members gain that reputation through providing other members with useful advice and intelligent posts. For example, I have seen many n00bs (let's not name names) go around to every thread in the Rate My Team forum and give misinformation galore. The same can be said about the Deck Garage. What's funny about that is that the members who spam a lot to increase their post think they have a good reputation, when really, they do not. As WPM said, " Age is usually a pretty good general factor for separating people's levels of cognition." Most of the older members know what they are talking about when they reply to the thread of someone seeking help.

Another misconception is that members who have long posts are veteran members. That is obviously false. Anyone can post a long message, even with correct grammar and spelling, and still be full of n00bishness and misinformation. That is why I think this system will be successful in helping young members learn the fundamentals of the Trading Card Game and the metagame for Wi-Fi battling.

I'm a vet around here, and I dont have a high level at all.....I just dont post alot......my grammar isnt perfect by any means, but its acceptable. But I donno about this last sentence you said KG.

You know, most of the people I meet on PokéBeach Forums, have NO interest on learning the metagame....people just wanna have fun.....not learning about very Advanced Battleing tactics and uses, as well as the same for TCG...people use what they like, and that requires a good amount of respect to accept that. You cant convince someone to play the way you guys do.....and I think the system wasnt meant to do that.IMO, the system was made to lighten the load for Vet members dealing with NOOBS, and help NOOBS become regular members by helping them with Grammar and basic knowlage of the game/TCG.

WPM- Can you explain your reasoning of this system.....I'd like to know weather you think My explanation was closer or further away than KG's.

I've read the entire first post, but not the whole thread, so this may be redundant. How exactly do we prove ourselves to be "beyond our age?"

Shawn out.

What CCloud said, I read the first post but not all posts.

This seems like a good idea. Then again, there are 17+ people who could be n00bs. This is a good idea.
Clans and Clubs would have to be community. You may want to reconsider the age groups though. I suggest you do it like they do it in the TCG, with Juniors, Seniors, and Masters.

Ok. I guess I could see this happening, but I am sort of confused. I am 13, but I pretty much know these forums like the back of my hands, and I try not to be much of a n00b. Would this mean I would be in the second group, or does it depend on how I post and make threads?

lol, two word post with no elaboration. With a good system in place that easily allows people to prove they've experienced their 'coming of age', this could be quite beneficial. I see no reason to worry SSB, if you're actually posting in a manner that shows you're mature enough to be "upgraded", then why fret?

It seems that a few members are unhappy because they don't think theywill be placed in the age category worthy of themself. -_-

The way I see the promotion system working is if you prove to have superior knowledge and grammar compared to your peers, you will be moved up. I'm not certain if this promotion will be made before or after you have been assigned an age group.

I mean, I like it. But I am afraid it is too made to fit your skill in English. I mean, I have a pretty good grammer grade in school, I just can't spell very good. Will I be brought down because of that?

Exactly what this system would fix.

Anyway, I'm all for it. The noobishness here has been slightly high lately, and I guess posting in areas designated by reputation is a pretty easy way to fix that.

Don't get me wrong, I like this idea, it seems great, but what about the people who don't want to tell their age on the internet (like me)? That could be a problem, because I'm sure a lot don't want to.

But overall, this seems like a great idea. Excellent idea.

The general idea seems alright, though I don't like how age is being misconseived. I've seen 18 year old n00bs here, and MANY 13-14 people that are extremely talented. Though purhapse a test, somewhat like the proffesor program would be better. Obviously, there would some members who are universally known (miles, PPM, Lt. Hound, shroob, miles CCloud ect) and mods wouldn't have to take the test, and there would be certain tiers for different levels. If a member didn't take the test, they would be stuck with only the lowest fan creations forum.

And the highest tier could recomend members to move up/down, and there would have to be a great majority (10+) in agreement to move them up. I don't know how much work that would be for you, but it shouldn't be too much harder then the first idea.

I'm not completely against it, but I think the purpose of forums is to let all kinds of people talk and have fun. Although there will be forums where all age groups can post, it still splits the forum and the people instead of bringing them together.

Good Idea but...
Lets say that someone needs help with their team..
For the kids one no one would reply.

Bad Idea

Actually, not really :p

After looking through the entire thread, and most importantly, WPM's post, I have come into conclusion that major tweaks of the proposal would make it better.

Firstly, the forums should be 'split up' into two, not three. The first being, as we call it, the 'n00b forums' but is really called the 'Junior Forums'.The second, which we know it as the forums for Veterans, is called the 'Senior Forums'.

There will be n00b patrol, or as we call it, mods of the n00b forum, patrolling the n00b portion of the forums. These n00b patrol is officially known as Advisers, but are really less-powerful mods. These mods have access to both parts of the forums, but can only mod in the n00b area, where they can Lock threads, Delete posts, etc. but cannot sticky threads/make forum announcements. They will be the observers of PokéBeach Forums' n00b area, and reports to WPM once every week to inform him of those who should be moved to the Seniors Forums.

The Seniors Area, on the other hand, is restricted to only people the n00b patrol deem worthy of being upgraded. The seniors have access to the entire PokéBeach Forums except the mods forums.

Speaking of mod forums, let me show you how the forums will be split up:

Remember, seniors/strategists have access to all parts of the Forums except the mod/patrol forums, Mods have access to all parts of the forums, patrols have access to all parts of the forums but the mod forums and juniors have access to the least.

Juniors < Seniors < Patrols < Mods

All in all, people of the higher tier have access to their own forums and those that are below theirs, etc. Patrols can only mod the junior forums, while mods mod all parts of the forums. Members will now be assigned 4 roles = Juniors (n00bz), Seniors (Veterans), Patrols (Slaves) and Mods (Powerful Slaves). Don't forget the usual Super Mods (Even more powerful slaves) and Admin (WPM, the Lord).

For members to upgrade from junior to senior, he has to be acknowledged by a patroller, then the patroller asks WPM he the junior can be considered a senior.

Please don't differentiate people based on their ages, yes, some people just cannot grow up, but some do (AEX) :p Besides, newbies will set their ages to be 20, so they have access to the seniors forums. That's bad.

I'm done.

I like the part where we kids get to move into the ranks of the older members!:p Well, yes I would love to see this work. But how do you think we could solve the problem of fake age? Some members would register pretending to be eighteen or maybe twenty-two even if they were just around ten years old.
