Absol Return viable?

With DE coming out, in my eyes Absol Prime could become a decent card couldn't?

Think about this starting turn.

ANY free retreat as your starting ACTIVE or 1 retreat.
Throw down skyarrow if needed, absol on the bench, juniper.
attach for turn, (hopefuly draw the dark patch or junk arm for the discard dark patch to attach a 2nd darkness energy to absol.)

Now this is where preference comes in, attach eviolite or dark claw?
(absol would be very vulnerable with only 80 HP).

Then it comes to attacking, Lost Zone any 1 pokemon (maybe a card for a MewPrime to begin attacking? //// OR this is just tossing out IDEAS. With the meta being so overly populated with Zekeels & probably in the future more dark-type decks use Lucario (COL) in late game after your absols have all been ko'd and do damage for each of the pokemon in the Lost Zone?

However you take it, I think Absol Prime's T1 80-100 damage is very viable.

The attack isn't what makes it good. What makes it good is the 20 damage whenever your opponent puts something down. I could definitely see it in Darkrai or Dark Toolbox if they go first and can't get the turn 1 Zorua/Darkrai and they don't need all the 100 damage of Tornadus EX.

not to be a downer on this thread but where can you see the scans and translations for these cards? i am a huge absol fan and would like to contribute to this thread but i dont know what these cards are :D

Dark Tool box??? sounds most interesting...
But absol prime T1 80~100 sounds really nice though....hmmm i need to try this in my dark rush deck, maybe replace my Weavile line with it since it's only saved my butt twice.

its 70-110 T1... LOL
don't forget Dark Claw adding another 20 damage. + the possibility of having 2 special darks. and the poke-body of putting 20 to any basic put into play is outrageous. i might invest in a few of these just due to the inflation they will receive after the set comes out lol. also you have the option of running plus power as well. you can almost 1HKO any starting pokemon (besides the Ex's)

Easy KO tornadus first turn.

First of all, Special Darks can't be Darkness Patched, so it hits for a max of 100 t1. Secondly, you'd have to be unbelievably lucky to hit that high-you'd need Darkness Patch (unsearchable trainer) Darkness Claw (other unsearchable trainer) 2 Darkness Energy (not as hard but still something to worry about) and a way to discard Darkness Energy (again, takes the form of unsearchable trainers). Even hitting 70 t1 seems like it'd be pretty lucky, hitting 80, okay you got a Sp. Dark instead of two normal, 90 fairly rare. Also note that his Pokebody only works on cards that they play down after it becomes active-this means that even if you start with it nothing that the opponent starts with will be damaged, and 20 to a benched won't KO anything. It'll be a decent tech in Dark Toolbox, but suggesting that it can easily hit 110 t1...lol.

I never said easy 110.
On the contrary, it would be fairly easy to attack T1 with Absol, that is all the OP was getting at giving it a lot more play than it receives today.
Obviously I'm going to list the potentially fatal and perfect hands you could get and the opportunities this card has to give ideas. The competitive collective is to discuss ideas and strategies in the competitive meta together as an online community.

Tornadus has 110 hp. By saying that you can get an easy KO on Tornadus first turn, you are implying that you can easily hit 110 damage first turn...

^ Or 90, adding the 20 Damage Eye of Disaster gives it...
Eye of Disaster only applies to Pokemon they put down after the game starts. So, no Tornadus wouldn't have 20 damage on it. Heck, even hitting 90 T1 is incredibly hard. You'd destroy your setup doing so.

I tested it a little , and it is amazing! It's a much better early game attacker than Tornadus EX as it is much as it does about the same amount of damage when you add in the pokebody, and for late game you can always just use Darkness Claw. It's also easier to set up as you don't need DCE. The ability makes Tynamos KOable with Darkrais snipe, so Darkrai can take a whooping 2 prizes every turn.

How? The opponent will have evolved their Tynamos, so you have to snipe for 90, not 30 or 40. You also can't seriously expect to be one shotting everything with Darkrai doing 90 to the active.

They probably won't be able to evolve every one of their Tynamos, and even if they do, you Catcher and ko their Eels so they'll need to put more Tynamos out sooner or later.

@Rileysill, I'm talking about Darkrai.del. I can PM you the list, but I have only been testing it since yesterday, after Regs.

I built a Mew/Celebi/Absol Prime deck, and so far it works pretty well. T1 Lost Zone AND 70 damage AND Eye of disaster? yes please

My see off targets are Jumpluff, Zebstrika, Chandelure NXD, Crobat Prime, Shaymin EX (also works with being seen off of course) and Zoroark.

And with the release of Dark Patch, I won't even need Celebi anymore, giving me a much better chance of the t1 Lost Zone (right now it stands at around 60% of the time)

yeah i just obtained a 4th Absol Prime because I think they are gonna be huge.

Yep, got a cheap playset of Absol Primes as well, just incase they get huge after the next set. Will certainly make an interesting deck :)

Like Rogue said above, you can make a LZ deck with it as well if you wanted :D Since lots of people would be running Absol with Zoroark, there would be DCE's as well in the deck. So you could run it with Mew Prime and a couple of see off targets :D (Cincinno would work for mewtwo counter)

lllooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllz i got meself 4 absol when he was 2 bucks :D but yes, i think him in a lost zone deck would be awesome! i'd still have like 2 celebi in there even with dark patch though.
