There are talks about blastoise making a comeback due to dive ball. I wanted to start the discussion in a deck garage thread. I wanna hear what you would change on my list, and how you would make the list yourself, or any thoughts you have on this deck's status.

RE: Black Kyurem in Post Primal Clash

I just started testing out an Archie/Black Kyurem deck which means:

+1 Archie
+3 Ultra Ball
+2 Battle compressor
+2 VS Seeker
+1 Jirachi EX

and then none of the squirtle/wartortle/rare candies. Theoretically a turn 1 black ballista is possible. In my first game this morning I ended up getting Blastoise on the bench turn 2 and could've attacked with Black Ballista that turn but a crushing hammer prevented me from retreating a Keldeo out of the way. I'm not saying it's the best way to play a Black Kyurem deck, but it certainly is fun.

I'm familiar with that deck, however that's not what I was thinking. Do you, as a player who's used archie, that it's too difficult to use as a one of in this deck?

Teammates would be a much much better one-of.

Also, I have to add it's feeling like kind of a tossup between the archie vs. non-archie decks. Diving Ball definitely speeds up Blastoise setup, so even going the full 3-1-3 plus rare candy route it's pretty fast. Relying on Archie gives me a pretty good chance of a really fast setup, but it's not a huge difference and sometimes things just get bogged down. One of the benefits of Archie and Maxie is you don't risk drawing a weak basic as your starter. That's much less of a problem in a deck with several Keldeo.

I do like that benefit. The squirtle is very donkable, but I think the speed and consistency of the traditional approach is more competitively viable. And team mates could salvage a squirtle KO in a beautiful way. And do you think that it would be better to include teammates, or another lysandre? Jirachi is getting quite popular these days.
