Countering the Impossible

The TCG now is quite unbalanced so some cards are totally destroyed when countering another. Like

Blissey or electivire against gallade
Gardevoir against banette
Tangrowth against magmortar

Those were the days when blissey was everything till gallade NUKED it. If we use blissey or tangrowth and such, how are we suppose to counter the other cards anyways.

I may be new to the competetive scene, but I'd much rather see more balance in the game as opposed to a bunch of Magmortars, Gardevoirs, Gallades, and Banettes running around. I love variety, and I hate that I have to stick to certain decks or I'll get myself wiped out. I know good deckbuilding skills can fix this, but I'd also like to face opponents with more variety, too. Oh well...

^Considering all we want to do is win, we use the most powerful. So there isn't much variety in the metagame.

Lets all take blissey for example. The most experienced deck maker could pratically beat every card possible with that card. But it's speed and abominable HP is of no use when gallade comes. T2 sonic blade or psychic cut just kills blissey even if you have a working Holon FF attached.

Techs? Normally people use techs like dusknoir in GG or gyarados in arithmetic but only in small amount. Its just a matter of time till the techs die.

So any other suggestions?

play fun rogue decks =) or if you care that much about winning make a deck that is completely anti-your meta

Well, we can with the release of MD, the meta will get more balanced. With Glaceon countering Mag, No clue what the Fossils could counter. Or We'll just see the same thing, the new better decks will just replace the old ones.

Play Salamence ex PK.Destroys most pokemon and discards your deck and then there's delcatty ex to finish it off

Yeah Flygon ex d is now, curiously enough, slightly anti-meta. However, it's a very slow deck so it will fail against all other anti-meta decks like T2B and techs like Gyarados.
The other anti-meta cards right now are Cress Lv. X and Gyarados, who even happen to combo with each other a bit. See Arithmetic (Banette-Cresselia-Gyarados).
Btw, countering just Banette and Gallade is not that hard. Magmortar can do that on its own.

meta is just overhyped cards not nessarily the best. i as a rouge player know this i took 9th in states with a meganium/beedrill combo and i was top 16 with flygon and minions list is in the deck garage. this deck's were not play tested eather so my losses were mostly due to weaknesses in the deck that can be covered. in fact i have develpod a grass deck that will beat the average magmorter deck 66% of the time... glade 80% of the time but it relies on certain cards not being prized. sure meta decks are good but they aren't the best.

I'm really not too concerned with winning. I just use decks made of whatever I feel like, though I still try my best. As long as I'm having a good time and my opponent does too, the metagame can just stay where it is, and I'll be nowhere near it. (That's a good thing for me.) I hate dueling people who are so uptight or impatient.

cresselia lv.x and gyarados with lake boundary or bannyss are great meta counters. cress can pick up double prizes, and is very useful for getting damage onto gyarados.

^A tech is a secondary attacker and helps you with pokepowers and such. It is normally used in small amounts.

Thanks guys. but don't get mistaken. I'm not talking about just banette and gallade. I'm referring to every single card possible that is destined to get PWNed by another. I'm just asking for a way to get over that cycle. Glaceon is coming and soon froslass. And maybe magmortar will get nuked by those two. So any ways for magmortar to break glaceon and the same for blissey against gallade?
