I think it's about time we all just face the facts and admit that Crobat is a brilliant monster of a deck that's gonna win every tournament in the world, and then wrestle a constellation. And win.

Okay so let's BREAK IT DOWN:
severepsn.png

This is attack is SO COOL. First off, it only takes one energy, which means you're gonna have this thing powered up in ten seconds flat. Secondly, it poisons your opponent, it POISONS them. Alls you gotta do is put the tablet in their water, and BAM- ten damage in between turns, awesome. Oh wait, hold the phone though, this attack does FOURTY DAMAGE IN BETWEEN TURNS, now Iunno what could be better.

Okay next up we got some serious Skillz. Maybe your opponent thinks they're so clever because they retreated out of taking they're next round of 40 damage, they think that their poor, damaged Pokémon will be safe in the cozy haven of the bench, well you can tell them to THINK AGAIN, cuz I just did 30 damage to them.
Also, it doesn't even take any more energy than the first attack! That's right, BOTH of your attacks are totally ready after you attach your FIRST ENERGY.

This is the best summary I could find for the two attacks I just showed you.

Oh also, it has a fair amount of HP and a free retreat, did I hear somebody say SWARMING?

LE LIST:
Pokémon
4-3-4 Crobat Prime
2 Torkoal
2 Bouffalant

T/S/S
2 Copycat
4 Poke Ball
3 Pokémon Collector
4 Pokémon Communication
4 Pokémon Reversal
4 Professor Oak's New Theory
4 Rare Candy
4 Research Record
4 Switch

Energy
2 Double Colorless
1 Fire
6 Psychic
3 Rescue

**Note: This is my personal list, you're welcome to use it as a reference, but I'd really appreciate it if you didn't copy it card for card
***Another note: I was using two Solrock, two Lunatone and 2 Fire, I took them out for one more torkoal, 2 Bouffalant, and 2 DCE.

LE MATCHUPS:
Donphan- Favorable
+Thanks to resistance, that stupid turtle or whatever it is only hits you for fourty, no problem for a bat with such magnificent HP.
+Donphan has a big retreat, and has to work hard (or play a switch) to get out of your poison
+ EXOSKELETON AINT GOT NOTHIN' ON POISON DAMAGE.

Reshiboar- Could be worse
+Reshiram can't one shot it, and that's something.
+Reshiram's retreat isn't that great
+Um.

Kingdra- Favorable
+Kingdra can't hit for much when our Secret Weapon is in play.
+Did I forget to mention you use Torkoal in this deck? Whoops. Well, now you know.
+It might take a while, but you'll probably kill them.

Constellations- Favorable
+Those things are scared of us, man.

Zekrom/Pachi/Shaymin- Not so hot
+It's a lightning type, nuff said.

Magneboar-???, probably not good
+Magnezone only needs 2 energy to kill a Crobat
+Crobat, however, is faster than Magnezone
+idk

Steelix-Who cares
+Yeah, if a Steelix has a single special metal on it I can't do damage to it.
+Nobody in their right mind is going to play Steelix

I think that's all for now. Oh yeah, I'm gonna end this with some jokes. And by "jokes" I mean a bad comic I made:

Machamp will be horrible for you once it sets up two. They can just rotate in and out with fighting tag and give you problems.

The worse thing that happened to this card is Catcher. Because of it, most players are going to start adding switch to their decks which makes it a bit annoying.

Crobat will be great in a couple of weeks' time, and its only real threat is Zekrom. I love its ability to snipe, and a swarm would be posing a great threat to the game. I love the fact that every prime has a good use. Oh, except Celebi.

You forgot about Magnezone Prime, not just Zekrom. Celebi Prime actually isn't that bad If you know how to play it right though I will garauntee you that it's not meant to be played as a Starter since the best way to combo with it is with Shuckle (Promo) and Meganium Prime.

Do you think that anyone would run a 1-1-1 line, or just a deck based around him?

Oh yeah, Machamp. To be fair, most things have a bad Machamp match up. And if you outspeed it a whole bunch it's not too much of a problem. I am aware that everybody plays switch, I play four in this list, and so far in testing I've had no problems with it.
IMO, Celebi is not good in HGSS-on, no exceptions.

Agreed, he well and truly sucks. Even Absol gets more use than Celebi, since he can OHKO Gengar Prime. Anyway, Lordy, how many Crobats do you run?

I used to run a swarming Crobat Prime deck and it actually worked very well for me. It probably won't be as good after rotation due to the loss of BTS, but still could be decent.

A lot of deck in the Meta are able to counter Crobat.

Zekrom: Yeh you mentioned this one, it is pretty obvious, because of Weakness and all, but some other details that you didn't mention would be the fact that since Crobat isn't running much of a secondary attacker, it is donkable. Some Zekrom lists do also play Yanmega techs, which thanks to free retreat, can also be an issue.

Machamp Prime: Ok this is usually paired with Donphan, so I guess that can be a plus, however, lets look at it this way. Donphan Prime with two fighting energy is in their active, with a lone Machop benched, you use Severe Poison, they take 40. They draw, Rare Candy, Machop, Machamp Prime, DCE, Fighting Tag, cure Donphan of Poison move the two fighting energy to Machamp then hit you for 150. OHKO. Some table flipping is going to occur shortly after this. Not to mention, Skill Dive would only hit their damage Donphan for 10, and could barely 3hko their Machamp.

Steelix Prime: In less a DGX gets mixed into your deck, and the judges for some reason allow it, you are only hitting this puppy for a max of 10 a turn. It is a good thing Steelix isn't seeing any play.

Magneboar: I ain't no Magneboar expert I reckon. I honestly don't know what your match up would be, Magnezone does hit you for weakness, meaning it only has to discard 2 energy for the OHKO, but then again it has a high retreat, and is much slower than Crobat. RDL could give you problems, you only hit it for 60 and it can 1 shot you. Oh well.

Yeh those are a couple counters that I can think of off the top of my head, however overall I still like Crobat as a card and deck. With a good list, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to set up at least two of these at a time, and Crobat has less counters than a good portion of the Meta. As for techs I could see Vileplume being an option, because than they can't play switch, but come on, who honestly wants to play Vileplume? Gengar is dead, get over it. I think that the best way to go with Crobat would be to play a solid back up attacker. Yanmega might be worth looking into, or maybe Zoroark. Once they are released you could play the a double Victini combo, have the Psychic one the can hit for 120 for one Psychic and the fire one that lets you reflip an attack. This is cool because it can be gotten out with a Collector, and can help against Steelix, Machamp Prime, and RDL. I think that with the right list and a clever back up attacker, Crobat could totally have a place in this Meta.

@ Steelix Prime: Not a threat, who in their right mind would use a Steelix?
@ Everyting else: Yup, pretty much.

@V0RTEX: 4, of course. I'll probably be posting the list as soon as I'm done with this post.

EDIT: Added my list

I used to play Luxray X with it, Promocroak, and Uxie. My current list I have which is not HSON is a Gliscor / Crobat which can work pretty well if you have 2 Gliscor at a time because you can constantly paralyze, poison, and burn for no energy.

Gliscor? As in Gliscor UD? Wow. I have to check this out.
I like it.
Oh and I thought of more not-so-good primes:
Houndoom
Slowking
Raichu

Crobat needs a partner to function, and that's that....

Also I run Steelix and I'm in my right mind. I also have a Crobat deck (partnered with a little something something), and therefore testing against myself doesnt work. :p

Huh. I agree, but I haven't found anything yet, and it's really not that bad as just straight Crobat.

I love you LORDY JONES.

This made my day.

And your right, everyone who plays Steelix is a total noob. And 'everyone who plays Steelix' constitutes about 3 people in Alaska. Psh. Not a problem.

Ah, Crobat. Since DP-UL, he could never really find a format where he was really good. First it was Luxray, now it's pretty much everything. He's still as fun as anything though. Don't you think the list needs Cleffa? I don't get the Fire energy too.
