Ruling Drilbur Emerging Powers

Hi guys!

I'Ve played with my Drilbur today and I used its first attack, to “boost” itself, then I've got through an evolution on the second turn. If it still is the same Pokémon (a.k.a “this Pokémon”), only evolved, does it apply its “focusing energy”? And if it isn't, then, why?

It does not. Drilbur is THIS Pokemon, Excadrill takes over and Drilbur is a card attached now.
