Okay, I heard somewhere that you could use Spin Storm even when your opponent had only one pokemon left. Is that true, or is there going to be an errata that makes the attack fail when they only have one pokemon in play?

Well as of now it appears that you could use the attack if your opponent only has one Pokemon in play. We would find out about an errata if there's one when the set is released.
Spin Storm can win you the game in that one attack. Crawdaunt LA also has a similar attack to Spin Storm.
Machamp GL is an example of one that doesn't require a flip.

Yet Machamp specifically states that your opponent has to have a bench for him to use that attack. Spintom does not.
