I got permisson from SaturnGrl to do this.
Now that the messy "Legal" business is over, let's get back to what this thread ws all about!
I was asked to make a tutorial on how I splice my sprites. Honestly, I'm not sure how to explain the processes of it. Its basically an advanced form of fusion. Well, aside from following all the nessessary steps when it comes to basic spriting, it takes a good eye for detail, great imaginative sight, and the ability to see your sprite in the attributes of the other sprites.
Here is a demonstration of what I mean:
This is the making of Diptereon. It was one of my simplest splices. Simple meaning I used fewer sprites than most of the others. You can see how it came together.
So you see, that's how I do it, down to the smallest detail of the sprite. Seems like alot, huh? Well, it is a bit tedious, I'll admit, but I strive for perfection. Its an OCD I have that is both a Gift and a Bane all at once. ^^;
I hope this helps clue you viewers in on how I work. Maybe you too can learn to splice like me. Good luck, and happy spriting!
