Hi I have a modified emberspark rouge deck adn i was wondering if there were any suggestions for it:

4-4-4 typhlosion 2-1 magmortar rayquaza-deoxys legend 2 thundrus 1 reshiram 1 tyrouge
4 professor oak's new theories 3 sages training 3 potions 2 switches 4 energy retrievals 7 electric energys 9 fire enrgys
2 energy returners and 1 burned tower. So ya any suggestions can you reply?

Oh and does anybody have a link showing what series of pokemon card are still legal?

Please set up your list like so,
4-4-4 Typhlo
2-1 Magmortor
etc.
How many RDL do you run? What is the strategy? btw, the format is hgss on right now.

Clean up your post. This is very difficult to read. Do one card per line. Here is what you should have:

Pokemon:
4 Cyndaquil
4 Quilava
4 Typhlosion
2 Magmar
1 Magmortar
1 Rayquaza-Deoxys Legend Bottom
1 Rayquaza-Deoxys Legend Top
2 Thundurus
1 Reshiram
1 Tyrogue
21 Pokemon

TSS:
4 Professor Oak's New Theory
3 Sage's Training
3 Potion
2 Switch
4 Energy Retrieval
2 Energy Returned
1 Burnt Tower
19 TSS

Energy:
7 Electric
9 Fire
16 Energy

First off, you are missing 4 cards. Make all four of those cards Pokemon Collector. You really need Collector, and it shows. Next off, Magmortar does functionally nothing. Its attacks are strictly worse than Reshiram's attacks (unless you get very lucky with its first attack). Drop the Magmortar line altogether. Next, your energy count is very off. Drop 5 electric and add 3 fire. Electric energy do functionally nothing in your deck past getting RDL to attack. If it makes you more comfortable, keep 3 electric instead of 2. Either way, they are fairly unnecessary and you'll accomplish your goals with RDL if you only use 2-3 electric energy. In making this change, you'll obviously want to take out your Thundurus.

Now then... we are starting to focus more on Typhlosion. Drop the energy recovery that you have (energy retrieval and energy return). They directly compete with what Typhlosion does. Burnt tower is still an okay card because it will never empty your discard of energies. It can be fairly useful. Add in 2-3 Reshiram to do your major attacking with. Drop your Potions as well -- they are completely unnecessary and do very little in the long run.

If you follow what I said, you'll have a lot of extra room. In that extra room, max out on Pokemon Collectors. Add in some Pokemon Communications and Rare Candies. Junk Arm is an amazing card for this deck, so consider adding that too. With adding Rare candy, you can drop 1-2 Quilava as they'll end up being wasteful anyways.

Finally, I dislike RDL in typhlosion, but if you want it, that's fine. It'll often get Catchered and then KO'd before it can do anything due to you not being able to power it up in one turn. If you want it, that's fine.

I hope everything I said helped. If you have any questions about anything I said here, feel free to ask. I went quickly and did not explain my logic on many of the additions/subtractions. Good luck and have fun.

thanks for the advice the reason why I put the magmortars in tho is because they helped me win a pre-release and a mini tournament but otherwise i think i'll take your advice

Well prerelease is very different from competitive play. You'll find that Reshiram are strictly better than Magmortar. They do more damage, have more HP, are basic, and require one less energy card. Play around with it and choose way you prefer. Glad to know that you found my post helpful :)

I'm still not sure with the magmortar though because I have enough energies in the deck to get lucky with his attack and possibly pull off 150 damage which will be helpful for the new EX cards coming out.

The key words there were lucky and Possibly.

You don't want to hope and rely on luck to be able to deal high damage, you want to be doing it consistently. Relying on Magmortar would require you changing up the deck just to be able to use it efficiently (which is still hard) and it's Mantle Bazooka is just horrible when compaired to Reshiram which has more HP, higher damage output and the ability to use Eviolite thanks to it being a basic. Magmortar now has no place in this deck. Pluis yourdck is running too much energy a it is. If this were the MD-On format where you would have had access to Dialga PL then you could base a deck around Magmortars Hard Crush, but nowdays such an attack is regarded as borderline horrible.

Yes, luck is not something to rely on. Reshiram would do so much more than magmortar, how much do we need to emphasize that.

Well when I made the deck and you saw it to Magnezone_Elf you know that I put in A LOT of energies because of reshiram typhlosion and magmortar and I could remove some cards and add even more energies to the deck and I've already played the deck 5 times and won every time in under 10 minutes every time, but Zero does have godd advice hmmmmmmmm....

look I modified the deck more to make it more reliable and I might take out the 1 typhle prime because surprisingly it's not as good as the hs/ss regular ones and besides I can trade cards to make it better I have the cards to trade and the cash to buy the cards I need
for the deck. And the deck is modified even more to make it less risky and I have the list of cards I need for the deck

The regular hgss typhle SUCKS. It does the same thing as reshiram except it has a crappier first attack. I would make this full reshiphlosion.

but have you noticed yet everybody HATES the hs/ss typhlosion regular so I can get nthem easily and 50 2 energy in my opinion that's pretty good considering cyndaquil's and quilava's moves once you evolve them into typhlosion you could easily do 50 or 120 damage and I've played the older modifed version of that deck that I made for a while with the typhlosion magmortar raquaza deoxys and magmortar and did about 100 battles and never lost one and I used the same strategy so once I'm done modifying the deck I'll do pretty well at states if I play my deck right (which I've done with decks like these for A LONG time)

say that after states but right now you better modify that deck until it can win the worlds because when i'm done with this deck it will win
