Pokemon Nationals Question

I recently got back into Pokemon this past year so please forgive my ignorance.

What all goes down here other than the tournaments?

Is it like a big convention and stuff? I can't seem to find much information about it anywhere for the 2016 one. I just noticed it is somewhat close to me and wouldn't mind going mainly to check things out.

Thanks for the help all :)

Traditionally the main event at Nationals has a Play! Point requirement to be able to participate. You can earn these by going to league and participating in tournament regardless of how well you do.

There are always tons of side events for both the card game and video game. There are various vendors that sell product and some may buy cards you are looking to sell.

Nationals is always an awesome experience and there is a lot of energy around. I've been fortunate enough to be staff for it a couple times even.

That is awesome. This would be my first time doing anything like this. It sounds very cool. There isn't anything around my area with leagues or anything like that. The nearest league is a hour away unfortunately. So really the only game play experience I have is playing the online card game but still lol.
