Pikmin for the GC/Wii was a really good strategy game in my opinion. I liked how you were able to withstand certain elements, and the graphic details were pretty good. The time limit of sundown was a neat way to make time limits. Control was very easy to do, and very easy to understand. some enemies, like the bulborb, were easy to kill. While other enemies, like the flamingo and daddy long legs (most hated one is flamingo :p) were really hard to kill without planning out how to kill it.

Pikmin 2 for GC was a really good sequel to this series due to the fact that they added in more pikmin, and multiplayer mode. (Although the multiplayer mode was only exploring caves threw challenge mode) The names of the items were pretty ridiclous too. (a rubber ducky head, was called rubber ugly :p)You could aslo play as 3 different people: Olimar (the main guy), Louie, the person you travel with at the start of this adventure, and the (SPOILER!) president. (After you pay off the dept)

Pikmin 3 for wii U is gonna be awesome! :D I can't wait for this game to come out! Hopefully they will add multiplayer all the time, instead of only during challenge modes. Also, It is going to be real-time based, so this probably means that you will be able to travel at night, or have to wait a whole night, just to travel again. I don't know what the main plot is gonna be, but I hope it's better than the first 2. Also, the only hint they have at new pikmin, were the flower heads. Instead of pink and white flower heads, these new pikmin are gonna have blue flower heads.

Oh, so Pikmin 3 has been confirmed? I need to pay more attention to these kinds of things. xD

The Pikmin games are definitely some of my favorite Nintendo games of all time, so I'm really looking forward to Pikmin 3. I'd still be playing Pikmin 2 if my Gamecube controllers weren't all destroyed from excessive use...

One of my favorite aspects of Pikmin 2 was the monster museum (can't recall the exact name at the moment) and the Olimar / Louie entries for each of them. The cooking entries were so well thought out a lot of them actually sounded really tasty...

XD Yeah, I think they said something about it being released next year though. I'm not very sure. :D

umm... Monster Catalog? I think? i don't remember either. XD But yeah, Louie's entries were all about cooking the monsters and that was hilarious to me. XD Oh by the way, did you ever get to the last boss on pikmin 2? (Very epic and hard. XD)

Yeah, the last boss was awesome - without all of the weapons it's my favorite Pikmin enemy design-wise. It's too bad you can only fight it once at full power (if you get all pieces from it the first time, of course).

Another aspect I loved was the two player mode where you captured the marbles. My brother and I spent hours playing that.

OH YEAH! I forgot about that mode! XD
My bro and I play that mode a lot too. He wins all the time though. :p
When we first got to the final boss, at first he's easy, because he takes a while to use his attacks, but every time you take a piece off, he gets harder. The last piece we got from him was the water pump. He spammed that attack like crazy and hardly gave any time for me to attack. lol (Hated the poison and fire. :p when my bro fought it, the fire killed half his pikmin because he didn't know they were on fire. XD)

When and where was any of this confirmed? I keep a good tabs on all things Nintendo, and to my knowledge virtually nothing has been said about the content/gameplay of the game. And there hasn't even been a screenshot, much less an official logo. Where did the blue flower logo come from?

In any case, I love Pikmin to death. I kinda expected Pikmin 3 to be pushed back as a Wii U (hopefully) launch title, so I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I was actually a little excited, since Pikmin's realistic environments would make great use of the Wii U's HD capabilites.

btw Xous, the 'monster museum' was called the Piklopedia, and I agree - the notes were very well thought, especially for an optional thing most people would never take the time to read.

I read it in many places of the internet. :O
For sure, I remember that Miyamoto said it was going to be on the Wii U platform. that is a for sure.
The other stuff (Real-time based, new pikmin flower head colors) I found on multiple different websites. (Can't remember the names) but it says at the end of my post that the picture was taken form pikipedia. I am not 100% sure the pic is correct though.
These are some of the sites I saw that it was real-time strategy from.

Well, yeah, Pikmin has always been Real Time Strategy, so its only logical to assume Pikmin 3 will be as well. And Wii U was confirmed at E3 2011.

And the new colors is just an assumption as well. There will almost undoubtedly be new colors, but nothing has been confirmed at this point.

Anyhow, sorry to be so nitpicky :p

I love Pikmin. I recently was doing a 0 death run of Pikmin 2 (using the flowers to interchange between the constant 100 I had), I've come pretty far... I think it's only the last couple of caves yet to go

@Bacon haha. well, I'm pretty sure you can do it. :D I'm "Rootin'" for ya. :p (Corny) XD

I think this is one of Nintendo's best franchises. I can't find the New Play Control Pikmin 1 version anywhere, but I happened upon a Used copy of Pikmin 2 and man is that game fantastic and frustrating at the same time. I too tried my hardest to have no Pikmin die but I gave up lol. Sometimes the AI is a tad funky because after all, it is a seven year old game; (the graphics, however, hold up extremely well). I believe it's one of the best looking Gamecube games. I'm so excited for Pikmin 3. I think they've waited long enough to release it and I will be disappointed if it doesn't come as a launch window game fro the Wii U.

dmaster out.
