Reputation Abuse

I could name a few that changed because of it. Ok I forgot their names but yeah. Some did. Then again we're all better off without the system, so I'm contradicting myself?
 
I'm glad the repuation system is gone. About 90 percent of positive reps were NOT based on grammar/spelling. It was getting blatantly abused.
 
Since you took the S/P Rep away, you should turn it into.. a TRADE rep =]. Instead of having a bajillion (Yea, that's a number.. in my world) ref threads, people can just post into the Trade Reputation system. :D
 
WPM, I think you should bring back the lvs and exp points. I think that is found guilty, the fake ref people should be perm banned. I was talking to brandon a while back, and we were saying how one bad ref makes any trader loose all credibility. If these people did that to tofu, 116 refs, gone. If they have no good purpose, they have no reason to be on.

The reps are good, and bad, but i don't think we should of gotten rid of them.
 
You are right SDB, people abused it more tha they used it. 1 mistake=1 negative, 50 goods= 1 positive. Lopsited and unfair.
 
Also, most of the negative reps were stupid, and like the positive reps, most had nothing to do with grammar/spelling.
 
How are they in cahoots? There was only one person the whole time. You can not be in cahoots with yourself.
 
I think all reputation should stay off for quite a while, although I am not entirely against staff changing people's UserTitles for using poor grammar. Now, don't get mad at me willing you to do work, but it's seriously a good idea, and you were made staff for a reason. =P
 
Well, with the reputation around. Everybody has been going wild, insulting others, or weird things for Personal Information about "I have bad grammar, give me a positive!" or "Give me a Positive and I will give you a positive!" and with that had been going around. It made the PokeBeach a disaster for making people think they are better than others.

So I think it is a good idea that everything about reputation is now gone. Maybe a while, or somewhere is 2099.
 
I believe it was a good idea that could have worked, but so many things went wrong. People were making reps mostly on how much they liked the person, everybody had been giving stupid revenge reps and it got people into huge arguments.

Good riddens. :p

I agree. It does more harm than good. A good idea but no one moderated it. You couldn't really expect people not to abuse it.
 
I had a feeling reputation would not last long. We might bring it back, but only members that have above a set amount of posts can give reputation, so only the active, smart members can give reps, not n00bs.
 
lol post count really doesn't matter to much ^_^
Maybe once you get over 100 or something like that though ?
 
No, maybe like 2, 3, maybe 4 thousand or something like that. Something that will very hard for n00bs to accomplish.

In fact, lots of posts might simply mean lots of spam. ;F

Anyway.. I for one am pretty glad the s/g reputation system is gone.
I suppose that a trade rep. system would be of convienience to people who trade, so I suppose that could work. If people made sure it wasn't abused, that is....
