I'm not really into tournaments (Nationals, Regionals etc...) but is it forbidden to choose what prize card will you take or do you strictly have to take prize cards in order? And do you HAVE to FIRST set up your prize cards and THEN draw your cards or you can first draw your cards and then set up your prize cards (I think you should first set up your prize cards) but I want to make sure...

You can choose whichever prize card you take, regardless of order. And you draw seven cards first and then check to see if you have a Basic, and then set aside the six prizes. If you get a mulligan, you shuffle your hand back in the deck and repeat.

dmaster out.

Mulligan is when you have no basic pokemons in your first 7 cards draw?

you are correct sir....you actually draw 7 and check for basics first, then if you have a basic, you then your set aside your 6 prizes...once that is done, flip to see who goes first (or roll for cheaters that like to use weighted dice)

actually, i know some people(including myself) who can 90% of the time make the coinflip the way i want it to be.
just make sure you always flip with the same strenght, and then it's only a matter of what side of the coin touches your hand.

thats why i roll dice, even better, i roll see through dice with little black dots for the amounts, so they can't be weighted.

^ uh, you can still weight die with "little black dots" Not that i weight my dice or anything.

Hm, never started a game with dice, but I'll have in mind that they can be weighted :D

Usually 6 sided dice can't be weighted to land on a certain number. However, dice like 20 sided could be weighted to land on evens/odds

official tournament rules state you have to roll a dice, instead of flipping a coin.

so it doesn't matter.

(and if their 3x3x3 in millimeters, you can't weight them, no matter how many black dots you have)

You're completely wrong there Blastoise.

Official tournament rules state you have to FLIP A COIN, but it is tolerated to use dice. Here in Holland the TO issues these dice. But if they find out in Japan we do that, they might force coinflipping on us.

dice can easily be weighted to land on certain sides...especially if you used lead paint to fill in some of the pips, that can weigh a die to roll on certain sides...and yes, I'm talking about 6-sided dice...which are the easiest, because they have less sides and being the sides have more of a base than other dice (except 4-siders, but who uses those outside of RPGr's)

unless you're catching your flips (which is not really allowed during coin flipping), the surface that you are playing on should provide enough bounce so that it is still fairly random which side the coin lands on...especially when there are playmats (most playmats that are used these days, that is) being used, and considering when flipping you are only supposed to be allowed to flip pokemon coins that have been unaltered (anything in the grooves of the picture, etc.), there shouldn't be an issued about using weighted or trick coins
