WAY TOO SLOW! I CAN'T HANDLE IT!

I am using Internet Explorer, but I don't know what version. I am just using the one that came with Vista.

Also, if you guys are going to request FireFox, I can't get it, as I can't download ANYTHING onto the stupid Vista...PM me if you want more details on that...:O

I've had that problem before. I was pming someone and I couldn't see the letters I was posting until 5 seconds later. But that was with alot of characters, like over a thousand. I run Internent Explorer that comes with Windows Vista(un Updated) and Netzero dial-up. Are you running other Windows or tads that run on the internet at the same time? Thats the only reason mine slows down. Also if Windows is updating then everything is slow.

I sometimes have other Windows and Tabs up, but I have tried it without them and it still is slow...

Maybe your Windows is updating. This makes mine extremely slow. Do you have dial-up, if so which provider?

NO. It is not the browser. It is the site. I have DSL, and i am a true gamer that uses the internet and signals all the time. To go faster, type what you are going to say into word and paste onto the site...this post is on word. ANd give WPM a break. He is trying to keep up his 4.0 GPA, an excellent website up, and live all at the same time. He is a great master and will take care of it. But, if i were you, i would use word

I am not saying it is WPM fault, I am just wondering if there is a faster way to post and not get stuck...

You guys may have to buy more RAM for your computers. It is probably outdated or your cache and cookies need to be cleaned.:)

HOW DO YOU CLEAN THEM THOUGH!?!

Bubba, please do not use all caps, as it is sometimes taken as yelling. Okie dokie? Thanks! ~MylesPrower

You have to do it though your protection software. That you have on your computer. Have you mom or dad show you how. If it does not work your RAM needs an upgrade.:)

lol...I know TONS more about computers than my parents...they wouldn't be any help...

So, are you saying it would be through my Norton Internet Security, or is it somewhere in Tools?

I've had a similar issue too... it's hit and miss. The text came up slow while typing my last post, but there's no issue with this one.

Okay, you all need a lesson in how stateless client-server applications work.

When you hit Reply, the client (the browser) requests the page from the server, and then displays it to you so you can start typing. After that, it's done. There is zero communication with the server until you hit Post Reply or Preview. So, sorry, but it's not the site, it is your browser.

However, there could be a bug in the JavaScript that drives the dynamic editor page. That would easily slow your browser to a crawl.

So first off, clear your browser cache. Don't need old bits of JavaScript lying around causing problems. After doing this, close the browser and restart it.

After that, if you get the slowdown again, disable JavaScript, and restart the browser.

If that fixes it, then feel free to tell me there's a problem. Right now, all this thread is is a grand waste of time and space.

Thanks for telling me that my stuff is a waste...:p

Just kidding...

Anyways, I am going to go ahead and try that now. I will tell you how it all goes...:D

EDIT: Whoa! Awesome! It worked like a charm! Thanks Kaga!

P.S. Please keep this open, as many of us aren't too good with computers and need help time to time. Thanks for your cooperation! :D

The only problem I've had is with typing. I just replied to a thread and my words would just stop showing up. I have to wait a minute or two for the sentence I just typed to show up.

Btw I think the site looks horrible now...I came back from vacation last night and did not like how it looks at all...
I'm having the same typing problem.

This site is just a temporary while WPM finishes the real one.
This is the permanent site.

Which suggestion worked? :)

If it was disabling JavaScript, tell me exactly what version of the browser you're using (like Firefox 3.0.1 or IE 7.0.5730.13, you should be able to find this info under Help->About). I'll look into it and file a bug against MyBB if necessary.
