The first shining Pokémon that I ever opened was Gyarados from Neo: Revelations.
The first shining Pokémon that I opened from the post-Wizards set is Groudon, when I bought a box of EX: DS. The only other one that I opened was Regice. Most of the other post-Wizards shinings I got through trades. These are the ones I have:

Latias
Suicune
Metagross
Groudon
Regice
I want to keep collecting more of them.

If you count the old sets then my 1st was Shining Magikarp. Got a 2nd one of those, then got Shining Mewtwo.
To the new sets, my first * was Raikou. One of my friends traded it to me because i wanted it so much. My 2nd was Entei* which I traded too.

Well, I dont have any of the old skool ones, the only one I USED to have was Metagross * and, ummmmmmm, I, umm, traded it to Gir.

I think the title should be changed to "What was your first Shining Pokémon (new and old)?", since * can also mean rare. But that's just me.
I hope to get the new Shining δ Gyarados sometime soon. To date, I've only opened 2 Shining Pokémon. I just watched one of my friends open a Shining Pikachu AND a Shining δ Gyarados in the same pre-release. Needless to say, I'm a little jealous...
