This artwork is a smart way of getting rid of/defocusing those clouds Gigamax Pokémon have floating over their heads. Like, I don't know if they have a narrative purpose in the games (I stopped playing them after USUM), but they just didn't work in the TCG, coming across as just a bit too gimmicky for their appearances here.
