Standard Kyogre Shrine Box

Hi guys, I'm trying to build a Shrine Box, but I would like something not-so pretty standard. So I build a pretty standard list an I throw in some water pokemon, and this is what I obtained:

Pokemon (16)

2 White Kyurem (LOT 63)
2 Magcargo (CLS 24)
3 Kyogre (CLS 46)
1 Latios (SMP 88)
1 Tapu Lele (SMP 45)
1 Oranguru (SM 113)
4 Tapu Koko (SMP 30)
2 Slugma (CLS 23)

Supporter (11)

2 Cynthia (UPR 119)
4 Lillie (SM 122)
2 Professor Kukui (SM 128)
3 Guzma (BUS 115)

Item (21)

4 Shrine of Punishment (CLS 143)
4 Acro Bike (CLS 123)
3 Aqua Patch (GRI 119)
1 Rescue Stretcher (GRI 130)
4 Ultra Ball (SM 135)
1 Escape Rope (BUS 114)
4 Nest Ball (SM 123)

Energy (12)

4 Water Energy (SM 166)
4 Counter Energy (CIN 100)
4 Double Colorless Energy (SM 136)

There is not so much which need to be explained I think, as I said it's a pretty standard toolbox structure with Magcargo, Oranguru, Acro Bike, Lillie, and Kukui. Counter Energy can be used on

- Kyogre, together with a Water Energy, to click Grand Wave and Dual Splash,
- Tapu Lele, to mess around with damage couters late game,
- White Kyurem, together with a Water Energy, to hit for 160 damages,
- Tapu Koko, obviously, to Flying Flip

Kyogre and White Kyurem can be filled with energy via Aqua Patch. In one turn, I can Nest Ball on Kyurem, Aqua Patch a Water Energy, assign a Counter Energy, Guzma or Koko retreat, and hit for 160. If Shrine is on the field, Tapu Lele is soft ohko.

Let me know what improvement you should suggest! ;)

haven't you any idea, guys?
No, I thought everything looked great. (That’s why I liked it.)
If you run into a specific problem like “I can’t get Energy into the discard fast enough” or “I can’t seem to do enough damage” or even vague ones like “too slow,” post them here so people know what they’re fixing.
I believe, that since 104 people viewed the thread and not one of them posted, that they all think you’re OK too. Some might have come to see what the deck was about and then left, but not 104 people.
You’re doing just fine. :D

Hi Missilistico, Happy New Year.

Following are a few thoughts for your consideration. IMO:

The White Kyurem gives you more flexible/greater (?) attack options than that Kyogre.

Only 4 W energy seem woefully insufficient with just 3 Aqua Patch.

To hit certain numbers, playing a Professor Kukui will be important; so, 1-2 more would be advantageous. These will also compliment Smooth Over use, as well.

Why no Judge to disrupt your opponent's hand while you can still take advantage of your Smooth Over and Instruct Abilities?

Further, have you tested Sophocles and/or Sightseer as an alternative to Acro Bike (which will fuel popular Trashalanche attacks)?

Currently, you're not running neither an Oranguru (Resource Management) nor a Pal Pad to recover and recycle discarded resources. So, "long" matches against opponents who can replenish their resources places you at a potential disadvantage.

Lastly, your game strategy may best (?) be to initially start spreading damage with your first and even 2nd Tapu Koko perhaps. Then, you're in a position to utilize either your "big" hitters like White Kyurem or Tapu Lele.

Suggested deck changes:

-2 Kyogre
-4 Acro Bike
-1 Lillie

+1 White Kyurem
+2 Judge
+1 Professor Kukui / Sightseer / Sophocles
+1 Pal Pad
+2 W

I hope you find these comments helpful.

It's a fantastic deck. The combo of Acro Bike and Magcargo is subtle sneaky-good. I like that you have so many cards to team with Magcargo - Kukui, the bike, Oranguru, 4 Lillie. I'm actually going to go an build this.

I have three suggestions. First, replace the escape rope with another rescue stretcher. Assuming the strategy is to start with Baby Koko, soften the opponent up, and then get behind on prizes (else, why would the deck carry so many counter energy?), then more than likely, you are going to have to pull a key attacker from the discard at some point bc the opponent will have ample time to target your pokemon they deem the biggest threat in the long run (e.g., baby Lele - sometime he goes down early, it happens, and I can't count the number of times that I pulled Lele from the discard to win a game; or they will target Magcargo 2X). Magcargo cannot pull from the discard, he can only get a stretcher. Two stretchers works better. On the flip side (pardon the pun), with so much Koko, you will rarely need an escape rope; just run two Kokos at all time and the rope becomes dead space.

Second, 4 shrines is one too many. I'd replace one with a counter catcher. If your plan is to use counter energy, and get behind, then this card is too good. And you have Magcargo to fetch it when timely.

Third, 3 Kyogre is too many. I would replace one, maybe two, with Shaymin (rally back) and/or Deoxys (psychic attack). This may require some testing. You have White Kyurem, who can OHKO a lot, especially after some koko softening. Shaymin and Deoxys can also hit hard, are great for 2X weakness damage (Lycanroc players dread Shaymin, and with so much buzzwole GX+baby and malamar decks out there, Deoxsys will see more action than a Kyogre), and both run on one counter energy.

Thanks for your love, men! I'm so proud to have built a deck you like.

@Lord Goomy Goomy, thank you very much. I'm going to improve this little guy even more. And please, spit out another standard deck as soon as possible!
@TuxedoBlack happy new year to you too :) I'm not totally convinced by the Acro Bike removal, but I will doubtless try it. Ì fear I would have a lacking draw power without them. I like the Kyogre reduction and the third Kukui very much!
@SquirtleRules thank you too! I like your suggestions, and you have totally convinced me to get out a Kyogre at least. I'd like to try a Counter Gain, so that Kyurem can be powered up with just a Counter Energy.

By the way, Lost march decks are growing in popularity again.... a Poké pall of mine just won a League Cup (with 84 masters) with it. Tapu Koko is a very strong counter to this deck, as well as a few others. So, I encourage you to keep its count at 4.

Yes, I saw I have quite a good matchup against lost march! Koko and Kyogre dent it badly.
I'm actually trying this deck with mono Kyogre, mono Counter Gain, more Water Energy, two Rescue Stretcher, three Kukui, zero Acro Bike, and a Pal Pad. I feel the lack of Acro Bike, and maybe I'd add another Kyogre. But Kukui here work perfectly! Thanks guys!
