Who is KaM? Anyway; that is, indeed a fact. The're are a lot of new members, that don't know everything, but that doesn't make them n00bs. Sure, there are some n00bs too, but i just wanted to point that out.

I've written about the ridiculous amount of spam on this forum a couple of times. My attempts to create discussion about the matter have just died in the early stages. Now there's a topic about it going on it's third page!

I try to post only when I really have something to say. If I don't have anything good to say, I just don't post. I seem to be an invisible character on this forum just because I just don't post. Most of the time when I post it's in the TCG Questions forum (because that place REALLY needs it).

Some times when I read the different forums and see how much spam they contain I feel this incredible urge to start a topic with capital letters and million !!!! just to say STOP THE SPAMMING! USE YOUR BRAIN!!! WRITE MORE THAN FOUR WORD SENTENCES!!! XD But it wouldn't do a thing. Reporting every single spam message would take ages and wouldn't help either. So I gave up, and now I'm just observing and biting my lip while occasionally posting in the TCG questions area.

I think I've said this before, but I still think mods should just delete every single spam message they come across. This forum has the good thing about it that deleting a message also lowers the posters postcount.

But, yeah... Seems that we all just have to live with it :/

The posts in this thread all seemed intelligent and grammar-and-spelling-error-free. Talk like this all the time.

The only thing we can do is to remain intelligent and bring in other intelligent people. I know that people are deterred from coming here because of the amount of n00bs, but the only real solution is to keep posting intelligent posts to set an example for the n00bs. The more intelligent people that are brought in, the better this place can be, and the better the n00bs will start to behave.

But I do wish I had a magic wand, like bacon said. :(

Actually, some Veterans like Flygon, Andyman, Junichi, Boracay_Jason, Ghost Pokemon Master, Black Rayquaza, Sam von Noobenschtein, SubZero, bass_forte, Blastoise King, Absol, Pokefan4000, Pok3m@niac(Did I spell that right?) And many more have vanished from the surface of the beach.

Im still present. We are just in different time zones -_-

Anyway, it has become noticable that PokéBeach Forums has become a sort of spam factory. WPM, dont fool around much longer with this scroll thing. The mods need more and more help everyday as more and more n00bs join everyday.

If mini-modding was allowed (well, to a lesser extent anyway), Id just tell them that if they dont have anything intelligent to say or dont say anything at all. Of course, this obviously wouldnt work (name 1 noob who listens to warnings)

Mewstor, I know what you mean about the first part, almost everyone's attempts of intelligent discussion and no spamness are just pointless. Noobs just come in and spam the place up with like

"HoW dU mIz GeTz A wIzInG oN rUbI !"

Its more or less like that. Now, Some noobs here have learnt from their past mistakes and have become pretty good members. But, not many of them do -_-

I feel the reason for so many "noobs" is because most of the people who join don't have a concept of what being a noob is. *like me when I first joined.* They don't think their posts/threads are spam because they-don't-know-what-spam-is.

Yeah, that's really it; they don't know 'rules of the internet'.

I think we all understand, that when you join, you aren't veteran already. Nobody expect perfect grammar and spelling from someone level 2. But as you get more posts, people start knowing you and expect something more from you. So, at level 10, maybe 15 you should know basic tags, use proper grammar and good spelling (at least do your best) and post only if your post is going to be intelligent. I don't think anyone is able to post 50+ posts/day without a single spam (maybe some special mods :)), so I can't figure out how come KaM (Ketchup and Mu??? something) has never been banned yet (last time I looked at his profile, he had something around 60 posts/day) and D&P has been banned because of signature only (Today's top poster: Dawn and Pachirisu (71 posts)). If you're able to post 71 posts without a single spam (in one day), I think WPM wouldn't have so much problems with choosing mod.

Triple post (by D&P). Delete them if you see this thread D&P!

Let point that fact out as well. I have something around 1130 posts. It may seem much. But take a look how long I have been on the forums. I have 2.39 posts per day | 143.17 percent of total posts, while KaM has 43.06 posts per day. Less then once before, but still the way too many, for someone who doesn't own some very popular clan or something, like KG does. 3,227 posts in total, which is much for a 75 days old member...

:F

Come again ? I wouldn't consider it a triple post if there several hours apart !

It does not matter if they are a minute apart or 10 years apart. Double posting is double posting. Triple posting is triple posting.

There is an edit button for a reason.

I will treasure this quote forever and ever. Back on topic: KaM, you're nine right? Why do your parents let you stay that long in front of your monitor? I haven't done that until I got thirteen! You'll seriously need a pair glasses(unless you do) if you continue on spamming. I'm not too sure if all of your posts are spam but I was sure it only took you two weeks to surpass my level. I mean 43 posts per day? o_O I can't even do that if I go into spam mode! And the long bio is really unoriginal. Plus, saying, "What's an AIM?" on your AIM screen name is just odd. As well as the "uhhhhhhhh" on your Yahoo ID. But I'm not criticizing you or anything but the day will come when members will look up to you in a sense that you post intelligently. Ditto(Not the Pokemon :F) for all the other members.

Umm, please keep this sanctuary of a thread intelligent. I have to rub my eyes in a violent manner when I see these kinds of posts.(Not mini-modding)

I have seen many threads like this; complaining about how spammy Pokebeach has become. I beleive that it takes a while for noobs to understand how much we enforce rules, and how if ruins PokéBeach Forums for the rest of us. While Pokebeach HAS become spammy, the only reason for that is because many, many people may just have nothing intelligent to say or contribute.

But, the thing is, almost EVERY veteran on these forums, at one time, was a noob. They adapted, of course, but nobody was never a noob. Even if they "converted" from other forums, they were probably in some way, noobs there.

The primary solution, IMO, is to just try to set a good example to other members. Try to not spam, not mini-mod, post good, intelligent threads, and posts, and we can possibly solve our spam/noob problem.

In addition, it doesn't matter how long you're on PokéBeach Forums. Even if you're on since January 3rd 2006 or something, and have 1000+ posts, they may be spammy. There are many members who have been on PokéBeach Forums for a long time, but just aren't "veterans".

Edit: I didn't see you're post Palmer, sorry.

Oooookaayyy.... disregarding Ex Dragon18 and Dr. Oolfer :F's posts

It's strange how you dodged my post. Quite unnatural of you. Are you perhaps, trying to be smart by posting something like that? Or are you being smart by posting something like that?;) Stay that way.

But, KM, it seems so hard to tell the newbies how to do, not to seem bossy here. They do it their own way. Sort of how everyone else did. But, yeah, every veteran was a n00b. But not an extreme n00b. It's only a matter of time before all the present n00bs become the main fixtures of society here on Pokebeach

Some n00bs can't identify themselves as n00bs, which doesn't help the problem. :(

It only makes it worse. A lot of us try to help. But they slap our hand back. That's why most newbies got into trouble. They couldn't listen to a little helpful advice

I think noobs defy being noobs. Its ignorance, that's a problem on these forums. They always think they're right (and this applies to real life in many cases as well), when in reality, they're NOT. A idea I have personally could be, like I said, set a good example, and possibly make the Newbie Guide a forums announcement, like the "Everybody Loves Grammer and Spelling" thread.

There goes WPM and his strange Lucario language. I'd say that he meant, "Trying to help? Yeah right!" or, "Look who's talking." But I wouldn't be too sure since he's quite an unpredictable person.

I'll be blunt. Some people that are complaining about the n00b problem are in fact n00bs contributing to the problem.
