Official States Discussion Thread

You guys are totally skipping Regigigas. Nothing in Platinum really hurts him, except Rampardos (though he hurts a lot of decks). But even in Regigigas vs. Rampardos, Rampardos can't keep the swarm coming consistently. Kingdra and Regigigas will definitely be tier one decks. ;]

Amt thanks bringing up a deck thats given me and most likely you headaches. Seriously Gigas has 2 bad match-ups Machamp and Rampardos. Kingdra I think has 2, Gigas and Obama. We still have room for one more tier 1 deck and I'm pretty sure its Pokemon G. I'll let you figure out which Pokemon G.

Rhyperior has only one bad matchup: Kingdra
He thrashes Gigas
Rampardos is a 3HKO in which time I can take 2-3 prizes
Machamp fails to deal any real damage
Galactic Toolbox is even
Everything else is the same way, all Rhyperior has to do is get the T1 Rhyperior and it wins. Not that hard, especially when you don't need any energy in the first hand.

Rampardos becomes a THKO if they get one PlusPower. It's still an awesome deck, though. They rarely need any energy, so they keep throwing the Premier Balls and Rhyperiors at you. It's just impossible to beat once it gets going.

WRONG. Fulop said himself that Kingdra has a good match-up against Abomasnow... Or at least his list, lol.

Also, Rhyperior is pretty god. Except AMU owns it - ahahahaha.

OMG, does nobody like Drapion?! :(

Seriously, it's going to be ******* awesome. And I don't say that a lot.

So, everybody has pretty much listed the Metagame, so I'm just going to say that I'm running Drapion/Darkrai. That combo OWNS.

Its too slow for the metagame.

Really? I went to league and everybody there agreed that my deck was insanely fast. I usually get a fully charged Drapion Lv. X T3-4. And then I can charge up another Drapion while the Lv. X owns everything. :D

I say, it's not too slow if you do it right.

Drapion is an overhyped piece of junk. Would you rather have a fully charged Tyranitar SF or a fully charged Drapion Lv X. I say Tyranitar, not to mention it charges itself up and has another decent attack and is a Stage 2 which is much much easier than being a Stage 1 Lv X.

Tyranitar > Drapion.

I was playing a ridiculously fast T-Tar deck yesterday. I had taken 3 prizes while he hadn't taken any. He was going to kill my Drapion next turn, but I had another one ready to hammer him.

I can argue this all day, but I say that Drapion = Metagame.

okay then show me how to beat G&G with it if get ploxed early and drapions weakness = autoloss to G&G

True, but I don't have to worry about GG in my area. It kind of died out, so I doubt I have to worry much about it at all.

States is going to be terrible with Dialga G running around. Decks like Obamasnow, Amphy Lock, Scizor, and anything with poke-bodies will die. Also, Galactic decks are going to hurt my Dusknoir deck when they use Power Spray. Imagine........You get out a fully charged Dusknoir LVX, get a few hits in, and you are overjoyed when he is about to become the best Stadium in the game(ever). Then "BAM!!!!!!!", they use power spray and he's gone.

Um... Power Spray only works during the opponent's turn. Dusknoir activates during your turn. So it sort of fails on Dusknoir...

Saying what happened in some random match with an Unown person is not credible. I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced.

And Drapion equals metagame. XD

Well, you can't win them all. I know Drapion has issues, but I think he's at least worth Tier 2. I hate always having to bring him up in threads that discuss metagame.

my opinion on the ampharos vs. dialga tech in age divisions
juniors-ampharos, only because if the are building there own deck with little help theyll see shutting down powers is better than shutting off bodies however the ones with help from older players will use the dialga g lv.x
seniors-dialga g lv.x, because alot of senior decks love powers i no i did thats why plox was so fun last year for me, so dialga shutting off the amphys power locking and other annoying bodies is very important.
masters-dialga g lv.x, because must of us will see shutting of bodies this format is sooo much more important than powers. you can turn off heatrans body, amphys body giratina lv.xs body, shaymins body, toxicroaks body, and many more if you want to stun powers i would use mesprit or even manetric to ko dead uxies and low hp caydols.
this is just my prediction.
im sure some of you will disagree, but we'll see.

Stun Drapion...do you mean Lockdown? What is the combo?

I like seeing Infernape, it is fast, and can do some serious damage. Don't forget Heatran X to keep those N'RG in play!

BTW I love the new PT Nape, it is flippy, but for 1 heads, you can do 80. I think with Raquaza LA and Heatran X, this baby is hard to beat.

Which do you think will do better in States: Blazetran, Magran, or Inferan?
